It’s hard to go wrong for $3K for two Porsche 928s, especially when one of the two still runs, drives, and stops. This pair of 928s is far from perfect, but if you’re looking for one to build and a solid parts car to accompany it, check out the listing here on eBay. The 928 on the bottom is the better of the two and both are said to have wiring issues.
The 928 on the bottom is said to be an “S” model from 1983. The chrome flat-faced 16″ wheels are a great look for any 928, so right off the bat this is the car that catches my eye. Of course, the 928 on the top rack is looking far rougher, with front-end damage, missing taillights, and what looks like rust blistering through the edges of the rear windows.
I’m assuming the interior photos are of the car on the lower rack, and it’s not bad at all. Of course, the dim lighting doesn’t help, but it doesn’t appear the wiring issue have sent anyone ripping the carpets and interior panels out. The listing says the 928s are automatics, but it’s hard to tell for sure if that’s the slushbox shifter we see in the picture here.
As we can see here, the top 928 on phone dials has already been parted or been involved in accident. Obviously, that’s the parts car, but the question is how far off is the 928 on the bottom? These are not horrible cars to live with when they’ve been maintained, but picking up the pieces of someone else’s project is a heavy lift. Fortunately, for this pair of Porsches, the price is right.
Gone…sold for $3K according to eBay.
Definitely a lot of value in parts between the two of them.
Hope a 928 lover picked them up & will make one nice driver.
Iconic cars. Pacers in drag!
Love those phone dial wheels. So period correct for an early 928.
I’d assume the top car had been parted out, to fix the bottom car. Possibly the source/cause of the wiring issues. But for 3k hell yeah.
Love these German muscle cars. The best looking version…and the ones that bring the biggest bux at auction…is the S4’s from 1993-94.
