One Year Only: 1975 Jensen Healey

01313_itf0fodgHiT_600x450

1975 Jensen Healey convertible with factory hardtop listed here on craigslist for $2K OBO in New London, Connecticut. The owner states he has owned the car for over 23 years. The car runs and was a “running driving car a while ago”. 1975 was the only year the Jensen Healey Mark II came with a 5 speed. The owner claims the car needs “light restoration”, mostly paint and there is “very little rust”.

The seller claims of a “little rust” seems like a stretch, maybe they mean it has a little rust over most of the car?

Jensen Healey 5 Speed

Included in this sale is a new “exhaust”.  I don’t know if this is the whole system and/or if it is a stainless steel one? If in fact the car runs this could be car worth looking into. What are your thoughts?

Cheers,
Robert

The seller probably doesn’t realize how much of that ‘surface’ rust is going to blow right through.

Still looks a lot tighter than most Jensen’s at twice the ask.

These cars also had 5 speed Getrags in 1974 …

these 5 spds are all very close ratio, with NO overdrive………and real fun to drive

I did a quick internet scan. Found a really great looking one with both tops, nice paint but the transmission fork is screwed up and many new parts. $5400 obo and it’s red. So I don’t see this one even worth half the asking price.

I was the owner of this JH in CT for 23 years, bought it when I was 16. I drove it for quite a few years and parked it, life happened. It, in fact, had very little surface rust. No rot in the body at all. The floors, rockers, and fenders were completely solid. The trunk lip was the worst of it. It was a running and driving car when I sold it. The guy that bought it was thrilled with it. So…to everyone that thinks they can “see it all” in pics…you can’t.
