I miss the era when automakers gave their vehicles actual names, even if they were a little strange. This 1974 Chevrolet LUV (Light Utility Vehicle) is a rebadged Isuzu Faster under the Chevy bowties and badges, and unless someone “drops an SBC in it,” this truck is anything but fast. It can be found posted here on craigslist in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and the seller is asking $4,900 cash. Here is the original listing, and thanks to fast Mike F. for the tip!

Parked 21 Years: 1965 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight
The Ninety-Eight was touted in 1965 marketing literature as “Oldsmobile’s proudest series”, and that’s saying something given the cars available from GM’s middle-management brand. The Ninety-Eight line offered a variety of models with two and four doors, including this 1965 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Town Sedan. This one is listed here on eBay in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and the seller has a $7,500 buy-it-now price listed, or you can make an offer. Thanks to Mitchell G. for the tip!

Sorted and Spirited: 1968 Lotus Elan SE
Colin Chapman’s legendary lightweight sports car formula is alive and well in this 1968 Lotus Elan SE. Finished in classic British Racing Green over black, this example has been extensively rebuilt and upgraded for reliable use without sacrificing its raw, analog charm. It’s listed here on eBay and is located in the United States.

Gallic Eccentricity: 1980 Citroen 2CV6
As anyone who has seen the documentary “National Lampoon’s European Vacation” knows, the French are very different than both their American and their European brethren. This fascinating country is filled with folks who have a contrary outlook and have no problem going their own way. One of the most glaring examples is their automobile designs. France has produced several vehicles that are radically different in a uniquely French way. This 1980 Citroën 2CV6, for sale on Craigslist in Bellingham, Washington, is a prime example. A late version of what could be considered France’s national car, this Citroen is in great shape and ready to slowly shuffle through your town if you come up with the $13,500 asking price. Thanks to Scott for this interesting French find!

No Reserve Euro: 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
Just a few posts ago, we talked about how the R107-chassis Mercedes-Benz roadster suffered from being seen as commonplace, or at the very least, the sort of car you didn’t need to rush out to buy. There are exceptions to every rule, however, and one of them is when you find a European-market example that wasn’t sold in the U.S. due to being unable to meet emissions requirements. This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SL is one of the more desirable gray market Benzes you can buy, as it’s equipped with a powerful 5.0L M117 V8. Find it here on eBay where bidding is at $6,200 with no reserve.

Freshly Painted Roller: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
The Malibu-based Chevelle Super Sport was still at the top of the muscle car game in 1970. A hot new engine was added to the mix, a 454 cubic inch V8 that accounted for 14% of SS production that year, the remainder being the venerable SS 396 (which was now 402 CI to perhaps confuse the insurance underwriters). We’re told the seller’s freshly painted car is an SS, but it has no engine or paperwork to prove it’s not a clone. This rolling project is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is available here on eBay, where the current bid is $15,000 (no reserve). (more…)

Same Owner For 53 Years: 1969 Camaro Convertible
When the topic of a first-generation Chevrolet Camaro, such as this 1969 convertible, arises, the focus immediately shifts to SS, Z28, or aftermarket hot-rod models. That’s easy to determine; take a look at the enormous number that BF has covered over the last three years, and you’ll find that this is indeed the case. Today, however, I’ve an original, unmodified, ordinary convertible version, but it does have its notable features. Located in Mobile, Alabama, this Butternut Yellow repaint drop top is available here on eBay for a BIN price of $36,500. There is also a Make an Offer option.

- Title Status: Clean
- Engine: 302cui V8
- Transmission: 3-Speed Manual
In the world of first-generation Broncos that haven’t been dolled up to cross a spotlighted auction stage, this one is bound to be a star, because it’s a solid 1973 model with all the right options, including a V8 engine. It clearly hasn’t been messed with, so the buyer doesn’t have to worry about what’s hiding beneath that shiny paint (which, on rust-prone Broncos, is bound to be something you wish you hadn’t seen). And finally, if you’re a fan of the ’70s and its aesthetic ideals, it’s wearing a coat of Sequoia Brown Metallic with white accents. Is it the jackpot Bronco? Well, if you like them, this one has to get you at least a little excited, and it’s being offered as a Barn Finds Auction.

It never ceases to amaze how versatile the air-cooled VW Beetle platform is. It’s moved millions of people around as basic transportation, been the basis for countless kit cars, and just about everything in between. While it doesn’t use a Beetle floor pan, this custom Sand Rail is powered by a Beetle engine and makes use of more than a few VW parts, and honestly, that’s a good thing! Its previous owner started putting it together in 2017, and after several years of work, it was ready to drive. Unlike most of the Sand Rails we’ve seen, this one has a title and could possibly be driven on the road. It’s now being offered here as a Barn Finds Auction.

Automotive restoration can be a rewarding hobby, but the world is rife with cars that have been relegated to restoration purgatory, perhaps never to return. Is there hope for a revival of this 1938 Cadillac Series 65? We here at Barn Finds certainly hope so, as it’s being offered as a no reserve Barn Finds Auction. As they say in the automotive community, even if it’s in this car’s cards to donate parts to keep other Cadillacs alive, it will have not given its life in vain. The taillights alone are apparently extremely difficult to find, as they were only used on certain models for a limited time period. If you have been looking for an ambitious project or have a 1938 Cadillac that’s missing some important components, perhaps this Series 65 sedan is for you.

Few cars in 1947 conveyed an image of sheer wealth and privilege better than a Cadillac Series 75 Touring Sedan. Riding on a stately 136-inch wheelbase and carrying either five or seven passengers, the Cadillac was truly the “Standard of the World.” This limousine hasn’t delivered any dignitaries to their black tie events in the last fifty years or so, but our seller claims that it’s the most complete of the Cadillac projects in our current crop of Barn Finds Auctions. Given that it’s a solid example of a car that wasn’t too common to begin with, a restoration or a driver-quality rehabilitation isn’t outside the realm of possibility for this majestic Seventy-Five.

Living in Michigan, I’m lucky enough to be within a couple-hours ride to some of the country’s finest car museums, including the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by a square-rigged car they long had on display, the Essex Coach. As a young teenager, I found it a mystery: Why did this innocuous-looking antique deserve a place on the museum floor near a Ford GT40 and Mustang Serial Number 100001? As I soon discovered, the Essex Coach was the first low-priced closed car, one that would soon catch on and render the classic touring car obsolete. At an original price of $1,495, it was “only $300 more than [the] touring model,” according to Motor Age magazine. By 1925, when this Essex was built (according to its 188713 serial number), the price was down to $895, which was actually less than the touring car at the beginning of the model year. This Coach appears to be in solid condition, but it will need some together time with a loving mechanic to get it back on the road where it belongs. It’s being offered now as a no reserve Barn Finds Auction!

Unrestored and Mostly Original 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
We featured an unrestored 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 on Barn Finds yesterday, with many of our readers stating that they feel it should remain in as-is condition and just be preserved. Another mostly original Z/28 has also recently turned up in the marketplace, this time a 1970 model, and I’ll be curious to find out whether or not the majority here will say it’s project material or should be left alone. Whichever way you’re leaning, this 1970 Camaro Z/28 seems like a promising example, and I can understand both the desire to take this one up a couple of notches or simply just enjoy driving it. This cool Chevy is in Irvington, Alabama, and can be found here on eBay, where the current bid of $29,100 isn’t enough to lift the reserve not met status. (more…)

Sitting 3 Years: 1963 Pontiac LeMans Drop-Top
Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and Buick joined Chevrolet in the compact car movement in 1961. Using the new Y-body platform, the Tempest was born with the LeMans as a trim option. The LeMans was promoted to series status in 1963, the last year before the cars were upgraded to A-body intermediates in 1964. The seller’s ’63 LeMans convertible is one of about 16,000 produced that year, and all we know is that it’s been idle for three years. Located in Hamersville, Ohio, this drop-top edition is available here on Facebook Marketplace for $10,000 (reduced from $11,000). (more…)

Club Cab Step Side? 1974 Dodge D100
This 1974 Dodge D100 is a good conduit for a couple life lessons, about which most of us could use a reminder. Number 1: It’s OK to ask for help. Number 2: Education is a lifelong goal. I’ve been staring at this truck for a solid two days trying to figure out what to make of it, and here’s why: From what I can tell, Dodge didn’t offer the stepside bed (they called those trucks “Utiline” Pickups) with the Club Cab (Dodge beat the others in the Big Three to the punch on that one). I can’t even figure out what color this thing is supposed to be. Therefore, I’m asking for all Dodge truck experts to converge and help me out with this interesting D100. Barn Finds reader Sam61 sent us the link from Marketplace in Lisle, Illinois, where it’s being offered with an asking price of $7,500 (and no trades!).
