The seller of this GTO claims that it is a barn find, but doesn’t elaborate much on its past. They do mention that it was owned by the same person for the last 20 years and was stored under cover the last 15. The 400 cubic inch engine is there as well as the 4-speed transmission. I’d want a little more information before bidding, but this does look like a good start for someone who really wants a goat. Find it here on eBay where bidding is currently right over $5,000 with only a day left.
The dash looks pretty crispy. You’re going to need a new interior, but at least the frame and floors are claimed to be solid.
The seller mentions that the engine turns over with the key, but we have to assume that means it doesn’t run. Plan on a full cleanup of the fuel system, brakes, etc.
This photo makes me wonder if that “cover” was a roof… or a tarp. Some dings and rust isn’t the end of the world for an old goat like this though since repair panels are readily available. You might be further ahead getting something already done, but the cost of entry would also be much higher and you wouldn’t have the satisfaction knowing you had saved a classic from an uncertain fate.
Pet Goat? It’s hard too get excited about lime green on a muscle car but definately a worthy project and a good find.
It would be a starter for somebody, but they will need time and money to go a good job on it. I would go back to what it looked like originally and drive it for a while. I would except I think my 69 GTO which I try to drive everyday would get upset with me. Car’s have feeling you know!!!!
Nice Find
I agree if the price stays reasonable it would make a nice car for someone to get in to the classic car hobby. Just time & money !!!
What’s with the Citroens in the back is what I want to know……
Interesting, don’t recall any GTO’s w/the wide striping along the rocker panels. I do recall Tempest models w/that striping though……..
Sold it once already on 4/9 :

Feedback says , buyer wouldn’t take paypal.
Questionable at a hefty $8367 sales price,….
I would run with that kind of money offered
So then listing should read, “was owned by one person for 20 years, at one point..”
The most expensive hardest to find part is trash which is the endura nose …
Looks like the seller cheated on the Brakes; Dumped the Booster/bracketry and McGyvered the MC directly to the Firewall. Must be a bear to stop this thing w/o assist since those front Discs need a lot of force…
