Pick Your Options: 1967 Camaro Convertible

This Camaro has not been driven for thirty years. There is plenty of rust and it is equipped with the weak six-cylinder engine. But the idea of owning a bright red 1967 Camaro Convertible with V8 power makes us lust after this money pit. It is going to require a complete restoration, but if bidding doesn’t get out of control, you may be able to get started at an affordable entry price. It is located in Hudson Valley, New York and is listed here on eBay where bidding is at $1,551 with no reserve.

The best thing about this car is that you don’t have to feel bad if you decide to go a different direction than stock. You should feel free to install any engine and transmission combination because it will still be a better fate than this car would have had if it were not saved. Camaro owners want V8s so would would only be increasing its value by swapping out the six. You could go with something period correct or maybe a little more modern. What power source would you pick?

Inside things look grim, but like the seller mentioned, there are many sources for reproduction parts to make restoration easier. We never said that it would be cheaper than finding a car in better condition. Then again, you could build this one just they way you would like it. After browsing through Classic Industries’ catalog for interior trim, it looks like the restoration would still be cheaper than most European cars of the same vintage. Not British roadster cheap, but close.

Muscle car values are nowhere near as high as they once were, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from giving this one a second look. The Camaro represents the very best of American muscle and this one deserves to be saved. The next owner will just have the difficult task of creating their own options list. So, which boxes would you check?

The camaro looks to be a good one to do as you say with some v-8 combo, build what you like .This one is Very basic as is so you arnt taking away a true ss rs or z. I was just taking to a friend today about a 69 z-28 he saw yesterday. It was a true Z-28 that was turned into a prostreet car, tubbed the whole thing. Sorry but that makes me said.If you can afford a build like that, it makes more sense to take a plain one and build that. By the way the guy with the pro-street Z is asking 75,000 for it in part becase all the dock. to confirm its a real Z-28 he has. Even the orig. dealer order sheet, build sheet and so on.might as well light a fire with that.Just venting.

I like it just the way it is. Of course, it’d continue to rot away, but there’s a lot of character right there.

This Chevy it is worth it, just because it is an original super six that stayed that way. Sure it needs everything but hey it is a base car that survived.

Like the 230 c.i.d. 6 cyl. PG combo. If the floors are good, it is very do-able. There aren’t very many “base” model convertibles, or 6 cylinders, for that matter. Had a good friend who had a ’67just like this in burgundy, 6 cyl, 3 speed. A great car. Not everything from the ’60s needs to be re-done with gigantic chrome wheels and 502 crate motors. Lord knows that they didn’t come that way from the factory. Just enjoy this sweet little stock Camaro. $5K would go a LONG way in replacement sheet metal, interior parts, and cosmetics. The 6 cyl. would be a true novelty.

Love it !! I have a 69 Pace Car, an original paint 68 Z/28, a 63 Nova drag race car and a 69 GTO convertible. I would love to have that car too!! I would drive it in stock condition after some repairs are made to it. What a great car. It will bring more money now in its current condition then when new. Do you think you will be able to say that about a Jap Crap Roach, fart can exhausted import in the future, I don’t.

Did everyone forget that the ’67 Camaro was also the 1967 Pace Car at Indy?
When was the last time you may have seen one of them? This would be a start as a tribute Pace Car!
