Primer Project: 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Can you say Primer Project Puzzle three times very fast? If so, this might be the car for you! This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is not too bad. The current owner bought it 11 years ago with the intent to restore it himself but it just hasn’t gotten done. I don’t blame the seller a bit. It is hard to restore a car by yourself at home. That is why I amazed at some of the work people are able to do when they restore a car themselves. This car is located in Millstone Township, New Jersey. The car is listed for sale here on eBay and has been bid to $10,100 with two days remaining in the auction.

So there are a lot of parts that go with this car. Many of the parts came from a donor that the owner has salvaged including grills, window slats, hood, rear spoiler, bumpers, fenders, glass, and interior parts. The seller states that the front fenders were reskinned and the car has new doors, floor pan, and rear tail light panel. Unfortunately, the roof has a lot of Bondo on it and probably needs to be replaced or reskinned.

The interior looks like a tornado just past through it and it is filled with parts. If you don’t live close by Millstone Township, New Jersey, the shipping costs may be significant. The seller states that they will pack a shipping container to be shipped to you.

The car was apparently built with the venerable 351 cubic inch V8 engine and automatic transmission. The pictures of the engine look good and the seller states that it was running 10 years ago. But 10 years sitting in a garage in the Northeast is a long time. The Mach 1 is said to have a new Flowmaster exhaust system. This car is going to need work but it would be a great car to see back on the road.

Ad pulled for some reason. Lots of work for someone with little to no rebuilding experience and that lonesome whistle blows….
