A few days ago, this seller of a 911 roller had two cars for sale – and, as it often happens, the better 911 has already bee removed from eBay. So that leaves the lesser of the pair, a 1971 Porsche 911T originally optioned with a sunroof and air conditioning but suffering from a fair amount of corrosion. Find it here on eBay with bidding just over $2,500 at the moment.
While the more complete gold car would have been the preferred project car to grab, the shell seen here is far from the worst we’ve seen advertised for a vintage 911. The seller does have a CoA for the car which verifies some of the desirable original options as well as the original silver paint code and black leatherette interior. Like so many older Porsches, it has since been repainted red.
The is the interior from the gold car, which shows you just how solid this project was – and how ideal it would have been to secure both a solid foundation for restoration and a parts car for pillaging. Now, despite needing total restoration, the red car is at least listed without reserve – making a potential restoration more appetizing. However, the original matching powerplant is lone gone, along with the glass, transmission and most of the interior.
The red car is also missing most of its floor, which would certainly preclude you from installing an interior! The seller seems to be open to moving these cars quickly, as indicated by the no reserve listing here and fast sale of the gold car. Is a 911T in this sort of condition worth restoring if it can be obtained for $5K or less? Or has the quickly deflating Porsche bubble destined cars like this to become parts carcasses?
Not even a parts car, it is future soup cans. What a pile of junk.
Hope the owner plans on paying someone to take it away
Its bid to $2550.00 with no reserve, so probably not.
JUNK nothing to see here.
Anyone need a VIN? This is soooo dishonest.
People who buy these things are gluttons for punishment
uber scheiss!
I agree with everything said here. As a past owner of several Porsches, they are fun but not that good.
Hi:
Is a sort model, can’t be 1971, for sure.
There are a lot of old cars fake in America, that’s is really negligent.
The red one is missing it’s “hardwood” -pallet floor
and that is unfortunate, because that is a very popular option,
The gold one, also doesn’t have the “hole in the sky” which is
really nice to have closed…but then you get a “shower” on the way to
work..Porsche’s…. you gotta luv em..!!..LOL
I have restored a large number of Porsches, from this experience I can honestly say, that shell is much more than a parts car.
The guy is being totally honest about what he’s selling. Someone has judged that the remaining parts are worth $2600, and maybe they are.
It’s pretty much as simple as that.
At the least, seller could have buffed it out a little.
That rusty red long hood 911 would be restored in my shop but the customer will need deep pockets to fund project & some patience for perfection!
Gold, the only truly bad color on a Porsche, or any other!
