A while back we announced that we’d started a new website – RatRods.com! We spent a ton of time and money getting it going and Montana has done a great job writing posts. But we are starting to feel a little spread thin. So we’ve decided the site might do better in the hands of someone who can focus more of their energies into it. If you’ve ever dreamed about owning your own automotive site, this may be your chance!
Besides that short domain name (7 characters), the Rat Rods facebook page may be the most valuable asset here. It has over 450,000 fans! It would take tens of thousands of dollars to build up a following that large if you started from scratch. We also have the ratrods Instagram page. We launched the actual website back in October 2018 and it’s been averaging a few thousand visitors per month. If someone wrote consistently, we know the traffic would increase substantially overnight. We haven’t monetized the site yet but would be happy to show the new owner how to do it.
We get contacted all the time about the possibility of selling Barn Finds and we hear from a lot of people who would like to start something similar. So, we figure this might be the perfect way for someone to enter the game quickly. We would like to get $15k (we have that much invested in the domain and social media pages alone), but we will consider all realistic offers. So if you’re interested and have the funds available, we will be happy to share the details with you. Please contact me here via email for more information. Thanks!
Very very specific group. Who really drives these cars? No hate, just created uncomfortable, usually no safe vision. All about the “outsider” look. Hey, I like 1 out of a 10,000. Good luck!
A lot of people are into rat rods actually. The original concept was to build something affordable that you could actually drive – unlike the high dollar hot rods that are only seen at car shows. Not a bad idea if you ask me and if you think about it, they have a lot in common with the barn find concept.
Nice site, good write-ups. I get it every day in my email, but am confused by the lack of reader comments. I enjoy the different points of view, and the creativity of these vehicles should be soliciting a lot of opinions.
Barn Finds has been going for about 8 years and Rat Rods is brand new. That’s why comments aren’t up to the same level yet.
Wow, I didn’t realize how much it cost to put something like this together, I’m illiterate when it comes to computers, social media, and just about everything else related….still carry a flip phone. I do all my internet stuff on a tablet, ha!
Whatever the case, please don’t sell off Barn Finds any time soon, it’s a cool site to visit! Good luck.
Domain names are like real estate. The good locations are expensive. A lot more goes into sites like this than most people think.
