Mike M’s Chevelle isn’t just a Super Sport, it’s also a convertible! It might not be a big block car, but SS Convertibles are fairly rare and this one is in great shape. It’s covered just 67k miles and is believed to be fairly original. It’s received a respray in its original color at some point in time, but the engine, drivetrain, and interior are all original. Mike is asking $42,500 or best offer for it and while that’s a lot of money, this seems like a good buy given the condition and originality. It’s located in Bolivia, North Carolina and you can contact Mike via the link below.
Asking Price: $42,500
Location: Bolivia, North Carolina
Mileage: 67,250
Title Status: Clean
VIN: 138675B136865
Seller’s Description: This is a survivor, not a re-bodied or a clone. What we have is a matching number car with a 283 motor with a Powerglide transmission with many options: power steering, power brakes, rare power windows, power top, and AM/FM radio.
Body Condition: The body is straight. I have had a body shop look at the car and has said that all panels look original. I have also had a Chevy dealership look at the car and was told that the car is solid with no rust. It has been repainted to the original Crocus Yellow and a new top was also installed.
Mechanical Condition: This is the original 283 V8 with a 2 barrel carb. It runs great with no oil leaks. It comes with the original drum brakes. All power windows are working.
What a sweet ride! It looks like it would be an enjoyable drop top to own and needs nothing more than a new owner. Be sure to take a closer look at Mikes ad via the link below.

Crocus Yellow was a great color on the 1965-66 Chevrolet line, including the Corvair. I wish this had three pedals. I’d do a few upgrades like front disc brakes and TH then drive it like I stole it.
Very nice one of my favorite yrs , back in the early ’90s I came across a ’65 burgundy paint originally yellow paint black interior with a broken lower rear control arm , well the kid was a medical student and he was skint and sick of putting money into the car , It was a Real clean car other than a bad frame from sitting in a garage for yrs anyways he was just about to sign the car over to me to cover the towing bill when some lookie-loo sticks his head under the car and says “Hey man this isn’t bad you only need this arm” so the kid makes some calls and comes up with the money to cover the towing ….I later found out he sold it for $500 after the tranny let go .
Needs a 4 speed
How about an all aluminium low deck 598 and a 6 speed ?
Love the body that year, but not much into convertibles. Even with the low mileage, condition, and documentation, isn’t this a little steep? Like maybe 2x what it’s worth?
Good luck finding a nice 65 hardtop SS for mid-20’s, even that will be hard, a convertible more expensive. The one thing that might hold this car back is it’s being put up for sale as the weather is getting cold.

Hi Steve R. That’s when you buy it, stick it in your garage, find a one gallon can to sit on, and just admire a beautiful convertible until spring/summer comes around again, then enjoy it. Wish it were mine.
But Christmas is right around the corner……hint hint….

There are worse things to be doing than cruising your Butternut yeller Malibu vert ,but yea, that’s a lotta coin per cubic inch,ss or not.
I thought “Survivor” meant it had not been restored. It appears almost everything on this car between the bumpers has been restored.
A survivor is an untouched car including paint, perfect! These days everything is a barn find survivor! The price seems very high.
That’s a gorgeous car. Meant to be preserved and driven as is.
If someone butchered that with a big block and a 4 speed I’d cry.
I love yellow cars.
I bought new one of these back in 2011.
I had to pay extra for the Lamborghini yellow color.
What do they call these VWs there, Miquel? I loved my 2007 GTI sedan, tossed it around a lot and got a few speeding tickets along the way. Tartan interior. Very practical with 4 doors. Traded my MINI Cooper S convertible for it!
This is a Crossfox. I thought it was a neat little car when I bought it, but it was hard to sell. Not many people bought them new nor wanted them used.
If it was a Jetta I could have sold it a hundred times.
They are still selling them here. I think it was made in Brazil.
You wouldn’t have to pay extra for any of these colors in ’72.
look at the choice! –>

Young drivers don’t realize how it used to be when car companies were a lot less greedy. & millenials even think 4 door “cars” today are beautiful in the “car” commercials!
In some cases today, getting red color, for ex. means having to also buy a package or higher trim version, & spending thousands of dollars more!
& you have a choice of maybe 5 total exterior colors & just 1 inside – grey.
Not for me!
I have a 64 chevelle three on tree convert with the I6 . Power top only with the clock in dash and AM radio. Mine was an overseas model shipped to Clark USAF Philippines 🇵🇭. My dad was first owner .
I don’t care of the numbers of one ofs.. this one is alleged low due to overseas ship. Big whoop 😼 I only seen numbers when researching values for classic insurance ..
Good luck on price ….i hope it’s brings a million 😮😼
Less non SS models made than SS cars ..
It’s very nice although it needed an extra pedal .
I guess it depends on how strict one wants to be on the definition but to me, a repainted car is not a survivor. Still a nice car though.
Nice car. I had a 64 with a Saginaw 4 speed. But even with a 4 barrel conversion the 283 was slow.
NADA says high on this car is 45 grand but that would probably be with a larger engine.
I think he is about 10 grand too high
I like Chevelles of all years, well, up to ’72 anyways, the ’65’s do look good. Not much of a convertible fan but this is a nice car despite the meow drivetrain.
What a pretty little car. Looks amazing from all the pics, but… SS without a 3rd pedal? Sorry, all the fun is gone for me. Doesn’t have to be a big block, but an auto? Sure is pretty, but IMHO a tad high for an auto.
My cousin has a 65 SS hardtop, 327/300, 4spd, 3.73s, wood wheel, factory tach, artesian turquois, bought it new, off the showroom floor, $3300.
About 20 years ago (maybe more) was at Carlisle or some big show, bought a 65 SS convertible, 283/PG, not much else but pretty nice, $2400. And thought it might have been too much. Also artesian turquois.
Still has both.
