Nice car, and probably not a bad price for the right person. ” What makes it special?” It’s kind of a pet peeve of mine…It’s no longer a one owner. They do disclose that it was purchased from the original owners, but therefore it’s a two owner car, soon to be a third owner car. If ten flippers buy it with only the intention to resell, Does it remain a ONE OWNER car?

      Darrun,

I completely agree. If you are selling a vehicle that you yourself did not buy brand new, direct from the dealer as the first owner it is NOT a one owner.
If you are willing to lie about that, what else would you lie about.

These got a lot of attention when they first came out in 82. I remember the day my friend’s recently divorced mom brought a Z-28 home in January 82, there were at least 20 guys from the neighborhood standing around looking at it

OK guys – not to split “hares” – my dealer prepared car had “nine” miles on it when I picked it up. Nobody counts the dealer’s ownership in the vehicles’ history. While I don’t like flippers, in many cases they are acting as a dealer/broker, don’t add mileage and probably shouldn’t count in the lineage of “ownership”

I think saying “one owner prior to our/my acquisition” would be a much more transparent way of stating past ownership history.

Excellent way of stating it, Ray.

Correct, if it was owned by the original owner for 27 years, and the “flipper” has it for 9 days, I still consider it a one owner car.

Steve, when I hear “one owner car”, I want to be buying it from said owner so I can get the background on that car.

I am not really sure that phrase adds anything to the value of the car as not every owner treats their car well.

Find an ’87 when they started putting the 350 Vette motor in them.

I ordered an ’87 IROC in late 1986. It was loaded and had the mid-year available 5.7 350tpi motor. Owned it 18 years and it never saw rain 1 time. I sold it in 2004 with 20,200 original moles on it. Kinda miss it at times.
