BMW’s E30 generation of 3-Series sports cars is quickly on the rise with enthusiasts looking for a fun to drive classic. You really can’t go wrong with one, they are lightweight, well balanced, and really well built. While M3s are where the big money is at, 325is and ix models are also going up. Reader Matthew M owns what could be the ultimate option combo that isn’t an M3. This 325ix is a four-wheel-drive coupe with a manual, which is a rare combination. He’s decided to part ways with it and is asking $2,900 for it. You can find it here on craigslist in Plainville, Connecticut.
Why so cheap, you might ask? Well, the car has covered 305k miles which is a lot. As a result, the interior is going to need work and the body has a few issues. While you might be thinking that it has to be worn out mechanically, that isn’t necessarily the case. There are countless E30s still going strong with 250k+ miles. They really are superbly built, so mileage isn’t as much of a concern as maintenance. Properly maintained, these tend to keep going indefinitely.
Matthew is the first to admit the car needs some cosmetic and interior work, but it would be worth the work to fix this one up! Matthew is working on snapping additional photos of the car so that we can have a closer look, but if you have been on the hunt for an E30 ix manual transmission coupe and can’t wait for more photos, this one would be worth taking a closer look at. And with a $2,900 asking price, it seems like it would be worth the gamble!

Really? The text states the interior will need some work but no pics of the interior, either here or on Craigslist? Bummer.
Good rallycross car.
Max I would spend is 1500 given the mileage
Honestly, 1500 or less.
We sold two of these recently (rust free, 150k miles, manual..etc). For 10k each. They can get good money, but the drivetrain needs to work, otherwise, there’s too much ix specific parts that are unobtainable. We luckily have one of the last new in crate transfer cases that we got from BMW before they discontinued it.
Just a short list of what’s ix specific:
Chassis shell, engine block, front suspension/shocks, drive shaft, exhaust, wheels.. there’s many other, but do t have the breakout for them.
I will say though, they are a brilliant AWD car.
