Ron’s Forest Find In Ottawa

Back in 2009 reader Ron B purchased a chunk of property. While out exploring the wooded area of his purchase, he discovered some abandoned vehicles, well at least the remains. After a closer look, he discovered that the body plate was still there for one of the cars. They might have rusted into the ground, but there aren’t too many new cars that will still be around after sitting outside for 75 years! As he put it, “they are still withstanding the elements better than some 2018 models”. I don’t know about that, but it is impressive how well they built cars back in the day!

From Ron – I found this in the woods of a property I bought in 2009 near Ottawa, Canada. Still withstanding the elements better than some 2018 models. There were also two fenders, both with spare tire holders molded into the sheet metal.

Our thanks to Ron for sharing his sighting with us. If you happen to spot any interesting old iron parked out in the woods, in a field or a barn, we would love to see it. So be sure to snap a photo or two and send them to us via email at mail@barnfinds.com!

The touring car appears to be a hundred year old Dodge brothers.

The remnants of the open tourer appears to be a 1924 Chevrolet Series F, body style 670 touring. That matches up with the data plate shown.

The first photo looks like a 1931 or earlier Chevrolet hood, but it is not for that body. What’s left of that sedan body does not match anything I can find for GM, Ford or Chrysler products of circa 1930 to 34, due to that double belt line rib.
