Shipping Container Find! 1967 Chevrolet Camaro

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is said to have been stored in a shipping container for 25 years! Found here on Craigslist, it has an asking price of $13,950. Currently located in Vacaville, California there isn’t much information in the ad regarding the history of the car. There are some cool pictures showing it being rescued from the container though. Thanks to Barn Finds reader Pat L. for the tip on this great car!

The car features really cool vintage-style wheels and tires. It has a great stance and looks like a fun driver already. The rear end has been updated with 3:73 gears and disc brakes. It also appears the front subframe has had a “rattle-can restoration” but it looks much better than before.

The engine is described as the seller as “the most correct non-matching 327 motor possible.” I’m not exactly sure what that means but I’m guessing this is a replacement engine that is date coded very close to the original one. It looks like it has had a few performance upgrades and an aluminum radiator. The transmission is said to be a Muncie 4-speed that has been rebuilt with a new clutch also. The interior looks a little bit incomplete. The ad does say: “I have new gold seat covers for it, a rear spoiler, center console, all body trim & more. Too much to list.” Hopefully, all the missing parts are included in the sale.

Overall, this looks like a pretty decent project. I don’t know if it is worth nearly 14-grand, but it may be. It looks like it will be a fun drive-it-while-you-work-on-it project. What do you think this car is worth?

decent looking runner that’s already gone! wonder if it is a M20/L30 factory car? looks like it has four wheel disc bakes and a 12 bolt rear. plus the interior looks salvageable!

I have a soft spot for pre 71 camaro vehicles.

Best Barn Find Market Tool I have seen yet.

Back you old car into a Container, take a picture and call it a “Barn Find” that’s been stored for years!

    BRILLIANT!!!!

I think I might give this “Marketing Plan” a go with the next old car I want to sell!

Yeah, I have to express a little skepticism over the “25 years in a container” story, too.

This car got no stance. It’s jacked Up like every Camaro and mustang back in high school.

Jacking it up is what gives it the ‘ stance ‘ 😂

Cool old Camaro, really liking those wheels with the weathered condition it’s in. Reminds me of more than a few Camaros roaming the streets years ago.
Decent looking 327 with a four speed, sure it has plenty of potential. As far as worth goes, well, it’s a lot more valuable now than say thirty years or so ago when the only value was in the seat of the pants experience and terrorizing responsible drivers, old folks, howling at pretty girls out the window, etc…

In the late 70’s when I was in high school, all ‘cool’ cars had Gabriel Hi-Jackers, and Mickey Thompson N-50-15’s. That was the ‘Stance’ then. I still like it on period cars. I also like slammed cars on bags with 18’s or 20’s. This Camaro will be a great start for someone. Maybe a father-daughter/son project…..
