Success Story: 1941 Chrysler Royal

From Wayne – I purchased the 1941 Chrysler Royal posted on Barn Finds on December 13, 2016. I called the seller and after confirming that Scott hadn’t contacted him yet, I spoke extensively with him about the car. I developed a comfort level with the seller, offered to buy it contingent on the shipping costs, and the next day, closed the deal. I took delivery of it on Saturday 3/4/17 in Florida. The seller was honest and honorable, the car is as original as possible given its 76 year age, and fun to drive. Thanks to Barn Finds for posting the car and thanks to all of the regulars who post comments. I have learned so much reading what is posted. Wayne T. from CT, but currently enjoying FL (and the car.)

I want to congratulate Wayne on his buy! It looks like he got a good one and I’m glad to hear he is already enjoying it. Special thanks to Wayne for letting us know about his success. If you’ve ever purchased a find you found here on Barn Finds, we sure would love to hear about it!

Wayne, having just returned from Anna Maria Island (and living in RI, where we have a snow storm showing up tomorrow), I am jealous of your zip code. Hope to live there someday and check out the car in person. Congrats.

Some nice accessories on that one. I especially like the road light and back-up light.

My late Dad had a ’41 Royal sedan that was an AACA winner.

My dad had a beautiful two tone ’41 DeSoto sedan that won awards at every show we took it to. This car reminds of that.

Congrats Wayne. I owned a similar car, a Windsor,(Fluid drive, I think?) in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) which I bought for 100 dollars back in 1957. Six to eight of us 17 year olds would pile into it and tour the highlands of Inyanga. It was a great car then as I’m sure your car is now. Enjoy. Ken from U.K.

Beautiful car! I bought a ’40 at a junkyard for $35 in good condition. Perfect paint, no dents or rust but the main bearings rumbled and it burned lots of oil. I never was a fan of Fluid Drive and this one didn’t have it. I out-drug many cars including some of my friends flathead Fords, much to their dismay.
