1 of 593:1963 Chrysler New Yorker Salon

Except for the Imperial, the New Yorker was Chrysler’s flagship model from 1940 to 1996. Using the Forward Look platform from the early 1960s, the New Yorker was heavily restyled in 1963 and looked like a different car. The Salon edition was added mid-year to bring luxury to closer proximity of the Imperial. The seller says this car is one of them which saw fewer than 600 copies produced that year. Described as a barn find, the car is said to be in running condition, sporting a rust-free body. Located either in a garage or on the back of a trailer (see the photos) in Castro Valley, California, this Mopar is available here on Facebook Marketplace for $10,000. (more…)

Unmolested Estate Find: 1987 Dodge Diplomat Salon

Estate sales can unearth some great classic cars, and while some or more desirable than others, this 1987 Dodge Diplomat Salon is a peach. It is an original and unmolested survivor with a list of desirable options. Its odometer shows 21,000 miles, but whether the figure is genuine is unclear. It has sat for around six years, but the seller has revived it so it can find a new home. The Diplomat is listed here on Craigslist in Scottsboro, Alabama. The seller set their price at $4,450, and I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder deaconstruct for spotting this remarkable survivor. (more…)

  • Special Edition: 1964 Chrysler New Yorker Salon

Special Edition: 1964 Chrysler New Yorker Salon

Other than the Imperial, the New Yorker was Chrysler’s most opulent automobile in the 1960s. And in 1963 and 1964, they went one step further by offering the New Yorker Salon, a 4-door hardtop that had all the marbles. Because they were similarly priced to the Imperial, the Salon was not a big seller, and they should be rare finds today. Like the seller’s 1964 example, which looks to be in great survivor condition. If you’re drawn to these land yachts of yesteryear, you might want to check this car out in Kent, Washington, if it’s still available. It’s offered here on craigslist for $6,750 and may need nothing more than a new home. Thanks, T.J., for a tip on a seldom-seen Mopar. (more…)

  • 1 of 1? 1974 Olds Cutlass Indy 500 Pace Car

1 of 1? 1974 Olds Cutlass Indy 500 Pace Car

The 1974 Hurst/Olds was intended to be the pace car at the Indianapolis 500 that year. Oldsmobile even built replicas for sale to the public. But somehow a miscue must have been made because Indy needed convertibles for use on the track. We’re told this Salon edition is one of four built for executive use and the only one with the W-30 455 V8 option. With just 7,600 miles on the clock, this special auto is said to look and drive like new. Located in Chicago Heights, Illinois, this Olds is available here on eBay where the bidding has reached $15,000 without triggering the reserve. (more…)

  • Saved From a Clone: 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon

Saved From a Clone: 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon

We all dream of finding that classic “one elderly owner” car. Well, that is essentially what this 1978 Cutlass Salon is. The seller purchased it off the original owner who had owned it for 40-years. He had plans for it, but these have changed. As a result, he has now decided to sell it, and you will find it listed for sale here on eBay. Located in Hauppauge, New York, bidding has reached $1,250 in a No Reserve auction. (more…)
