There are good days in this hobby and then there are the days that none of us look forward too, but time marches on. Sadly, for the owner of this package deal, it is one of those days they don’t look forward to, but health reasons have necessitated the sale. Listed here on craigslist in St. Louis, Missouri is a 1931 Chevrolet Independence AE, with a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2005 Hallmark enclosed trailer priced at $25K for all three.
According to the seller, the 1931 Chevrolet Independence AE had a frame-off restoration. We don’t know what year it was done. The Hallmark and the 4 wheel drive Suburban are in like new condition with 138K miles and riding on 10 ply Michelin tires on the truck.
The interior of this Chevy appears to be beautifully done. It really would be a comfortable place to kick back and enjoy as the miles pass by.
Even with an enclosed trailer, this car has hit the road and seen plenty of use. Seeing it actually being used not only make us happy, it was built to be driven after all, but it also shows us that this car is ready for events and regular use!
There are other images with the craigslist ad showing this car at car shows and with the trophies. This appears to be a great package with all you need to go and place at shows, plus everything you need to travel to and from events. It will be a sad day for the owner, but a wonderful day for the next. We wish good luck to all parties involved!
Motor-on,
Robert
Seems like a pretty reasonable price to me. Nice looking car.
There’s that time that we never think of, that time when our toys become someone elses toys. My father is going through that with a friend of his who is in his 80’s with brain cancer and a lifetime of collecting things.
It’s rough. Really rough, but it happens at one time or another to all of us. Hopefully these find a loving home.

The link just has Chinese characters and nothing more, and the photo with the truck and trailer doesn’t look like a Suburban. Atleast not what I’ve seen in here in Canada.
So an old haulmark trailer is woth about $4k, a ’99 Suburban, what? Say $4K maybe? And is a ’31 Chev like that worth $17K? Don’t think so,would say its worth more like $10K maybe. So the whole package is worth maybe $18K. Maybe less.
Rick, you’re right. $8-12k for the 31′ That’s a truck and not a Suburban so I don’t know what’s going on with that. I’ve done two 1930 Chevy’s and you spend more than you can buy one already done for.
We knew it isn’t a Suburban and went with what the seller claimed. Sometimes owners don’t know or remember what they have.
Actually the truck in the photo with the trailer isn’t the truck the seller was offering in the deal. They had photos of a ’99 Suburban in the ad, I just forgot to add it. Sorry about the confusion.
Why aren’t any of you suggesting someone chop this Chev up into a rat rod? Is it only Model A’s you pick on?
Anyone else know what is up with all the Chinese characters on Craigslist? I placed an ad and when I wanted to change it all I got were Chinese writings and no option to translate?? I wrote Craigslist but never got a response
I hope the Chev gets sold to someone who will continue to preserve it – I agree that right now the package is greatly overpriced
I had the same problem w/Chinese characters.
Go to a general CL page, you know, with all the listing categories and cities.
On the top right corner you will find a language block with drop down menu.
Select English (or whatever, LOL).
Done!
Don’t know why this happened, programmer is Chinese maybe?
