In many circles, if you have more than four cats, you’d qualify as a Crazy Cat Lady (or Man or Person). Does the same kind of rule apply to collecting a bunch of cars that don’t function anymore? The seller has listed nearly 30 automobiles from the 1950s to the 1990s and they look like projects at various levels of complexity. Many manufacturers are represented, so no one brand seems to be a favorite. From some open acreage near Palmdale, California, these cars are available here on craigslist from a low of $800 to a high of $6,500. Happy shopping!
There are 29 cars offered by the seller, although two are already marked as sold. 1 is from the 1950s, 13 were built in the 1960s, 14 more in the 1970s, and another car from the 1990s. 10 of them are Dodges, 6 each from AMC and Pontiac, 4 from Ford, and one offering from Plymouth, Chevrolet, and Mercury. If the seller were to get his asking price for everything, the tally would exceed $90,000. Let’s peek at a few of the more interesting cars and leave the rest to your perusal of the seller’s listing.
1956 Dodge Royal Lancer
This 2-door hardtop was the top-of-the-line car offered by Dodge in the mid-1950s. It was akin to the Chevy Bel Air. The seller says the car has a V8 which could be 315 cubic inches. It has been sitting for some 30 years and yet we’re told there’s still a lien in the seller’s name. Asking Price: $5,000.
1966 Rambler American Rogue
This was the sporty edition of AMC’s compact, and it came originally with a 290 V8 with a floor-shifted automatic and bucket seats. The factory motor has been replaced by an inline-6, so it won’t be as potent. The American was the last AMC car to be called Rambler. Asking Price: $2,700.
1973 Pontiac GTO
This was the last year of the GTO as a mid-size, becoming a performance option on the Ventura in 1974. These autos are seldom seen these days and this one no longer has its 455 cubic inch V8 or transmission. It’s been captive for 20 years and has zero paperwork to go with it, having long ago fallen out of the DMV system. Asking Price: $4,800.
1974 Chevrolet Laguna S-3
The Laguna S-3 was something of the successor to the Chevelle Super Sport, though not nearly as popular. This one has the biggest engine offered, a 454 cubic inch V8, paired with an automatic transmission. While it’s been sitting for 25 years, it was last cranked about a decade ago, Asking Price: $4,900.
Wow! I hope someone on here snaps up the Dodge Spirit R/T, AMC AMX and 428 factory 4-speed Grand Prix SJ or any of the other desirable ones for that matter.
I always wonder how this happens.
I found this about California Lien Sales after reading several are such.

So did this operate a tow truck job where he took possession of cars abandoned or towed and never picked up?
Interesting to see some non 2500 dollar cars listed here.
The 72 Torino to bad not a 351 Cleveland vs 400.
Possibly the 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ 428, 4 SPEED, hood tach car. All apart, needs resto but super rare. AC car too! I have matching numbers motor, and trans, bellhousing lost by previous owner. Sitting 20 years. $6500
Liens can be a nightmare bit hopefully not.
Good luck with clearing these out 👍😉
You see this on some of the YouTube channels. Old guy, in his late 70’s, has 40 cars, and he’s going to restore every car the guy running the camera is interested in. Doesn’t want to sell a damn thing. Eventually, God makes his mind up.
Looks like Steve dulcich’s from roadkill place.lol
Yes, the SJ with A/C and 4-speed is worth investigating further.
The ’66 T-Bird, as it is a 3-window Landau and a 428, is especially worth considering if it’s also got A/C.
The ’56 Dodge, while not a Custom Royal Lancer, IS a hardtop Royal Lancer, and if it’s a rust free CA car, also worth a consideration.
Bring in a portable crusher pop cans
Why would you crush any of these cars? Just because they are not what you like or collect? I would not crush any of them. Some of these cars are well worth saving. Even the cars that may not be financially worth bringing back to life still look to have a lot of good useable parts on them. A person would be much farther ahead financially parting them out over just getting scrap price by crushing them.
I would guess that many of your readers would have 30 cars…
A) if they had the room
B) if they didn’t have the Wife
C) both of the above
Choose one
Living in Ontario near Peterborough, I am drooling over the sheet metal condition of these cars! I am in the process of buying a ’73 GTO out of Toronto for the missing parts on mine and planning on crushing the rest due to the rust. I would love to get the one pictured here. Worth saving this one!!
The 74 Chevrolet Laguna S3 is a relatively rare car from what I’ve read. As it was only produced for 3 model years. For you NASCAR fans of old.
NASCAR driver Cale Yarborough earned the first two of his three consecutive Winston Cup championships piloting a Chevelle Laguna.
Great collection of potential here. You need some skills, but you could (possibly) deal with this seller because they are more than likely losing their storage.
Especially if you can swing a package deal. There are several very similar vehicles that you could grab.
The Dart Sport is either really a Duster or the hoods been changed. The Dart Sport has a square hood and a bolt on header panel –
Most of these cars listed are still popular and the prices are pretty reasonable, even if you just need a parts car.
