Whether a car is too rusty to restore or not is a constant question for enthusiasts. Some answer that question like I have by acquiring a plasma cutter and a good welder that make every car fair game. Others have rust professionally eliminated. Still others live with some rust. This Chevelle may raise that question in many of you, as it doesn’t have a huge amount of rust, but will still require some panel work like replacing the trunk floor. It’s located in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia and is for sale here on craigslist for $6,000.
On the inside, it’s not the best story. No front seats, trashed carpet, what looks like a hole cut for a floor shifter (it’s a factory 3-on-the-tree car) and a general unkempt appearance. However, it does have a 12-bolt rear and claimed no rust in the rockers or frame. How do you feel about rust? Let us know in the comments section!
This car actually looks LESS rusty than the 15yr. old pickup I drive. Rust issues have been the cause of death for every vehicle I’ve owned for the past 30 years. Vermont.
It looks restorable to me…..The price can be negotiated ….

Not a bad candidate for a resto at all. Looks like the original motor is gone but someone once started to install a 350. I’ve always liked the ’64 Chevelle and I wouldn’t likely turn one down if it was close to home (which this one is not). I’d like to take on a project like this if I had all my other projects off and running.
