When it comes to electric oddball cars, it’s hard to top the Corbin Sparrow. These single passenger three wheelers are definitely interesting, with styling that is unlike anything else on the road. They seemed like a great solution for city dwellers that needed to commute short distances, but range was limited and recharge times too long. Even with their limitations, there was a surprising amount of demand. Even more surprising, there’s quite a few Sparrow projects out there. This seller has not one, but two, Sparrow projects that they found stashed in a barn. You can find this two for one deal here on eBay in Chittenden, Vermont with a BIN of $3,800 or best offer.
Here’s the other Sparrow, it was wrapped up with plastic when put into storage. It appears to currently be in pieces, but I see many of the major components. Both cars are missing their most vital parts though, their batteries and electric motors. While I’m sure you could find replacements, I would be rather tempted to install a more conventional powertrain. I’ve seen a few of these with gas powered scooter engines, I’m sure you could fit just about any small motorcycle engine in these, and you would be able to actually travel more than 40 miles from home in it.
While these aren’t for everyone, if you are into oddball transportation and want to build something different, these could be fun projects! So what do you think? Would you find batteries and electric motors for this duo or would you go the gas engine route? Oh and if you’d like a Sparrow, but want one that’s already running and driving, you might want to have a look at this road side find here on UpNorthLive.com. Special thanks to Dan B for the tip on this one!
i’m just gonna punch myself in the johnson instead

Yeah baby! Do both as Gold Member tributes…keep one, sell one at Barrett Jackson.
sbc…
I’d put a gen 1 gold wing power train in this, then you could have some fun with it.
Corbin. Just a little ahead of his time. If the Sparrow had come out today with the innards built by Tesla, it might have succeeded. Still they DID sell quite a few and the people who have them say that they are EXCELLENT for advertising their businesses. You can’t drive one of these without attracting a crowd.
Heck, buy one and transplant that body onto a Slingshot – way better looking IMHO.
Here is a project Sparrow with a Honda 250 motorcycle grafted to the rear: https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/2000-corbin-sparrow-project/6276526240.html
Looks like a fun project. A bit too advanced for me though.
I have a project custom build on the go its a Corbin sparrow and i am very nearly finished Honda engine and few custom mods
Hey Lofty! Did you ever finish your Corbin?

Paul
