What’s orange on the outside and blue on the inside? Well, this TR7 listed on eBay is, unless, of course, it’s really red. It’s claimed to have only 17,531 miles and is located in Salem, Oregon. (Anyone who believes this mileage claim, raise your hands. I don’t see any hands so I guess not). The BIN is $11,000, at least twice what it should sell for. It’s said to have been stored for years. The paint is faded so it must have sat outside awhile. Hopefully, it really will buff out.
These seats look nice but don’t look like typical TR7 seats. Could these be the leather option? They are in really nice condition.
Things look really clean and tidy under here. Could an engine really look this clean after 19,000 miles and then sitting for years? Could this have had a recent detailing?
The seller says this will buff out to a “SURE CONCOURS WINNING CAR”, even with the nicks and scratches he describes. This might be a really nice example of a TR7, but could it really be a 17,531-mile survivor? The seller purchased it from an estate sale, so he has no idea how long it was sitting and has no documentation to show that it’s 17,531 miles and not 117,531 miles. The seller says it runs well but needs the fluids changed. It couldn’t have been sitting too long if it runs without at least fresh gas. If it was stored inside as the seller claims, why is the paint oxidized? Then there is also the paint overspray. Which would you choose, this TR7 for $11,000 or another one on eBay with a BIN of $5500, or half the price? I think the seller purchased this TR7 at an estate sale and it looks nice enough to them that they hope people will really believe it has only 17,531 miles. They cleverly left the focus soft on the picture of the pedals and used very selective photography. Is that fish I smell?
Yard sale, junk flipper with no concept of real world values. $2500…maybe!
Those seats were originally plaid, matching the door panels.
Suppose if it has 117K miles it was a good one and decently maintained…17K not such a good one.
I don’t object to the owner trying to get more then the cars value but, I am not seeing that blue on the red exterior. Hope they get what their asking but, will be very surprised if they do.
Those seats look like the ones from a Fiat 124.

Those seats look like Triumph Stag seats to me.
On a positive note, European red paint of that era oxidizes so yes I have buffed such oxidation off. Sometimes a really good polish will do it.

Methinks he saw the odometer and got estate sale fever and just had to have it. Car has huge pedal wear, over spray on the carpet. Reason he didn’t buff it out himself is rattle can don’t get much better than what is shown. It’s a shame this flipper is to lazy to at least have this pile pretty and turn key road ready for that BIN
Swapped odometer. Easy and common. No documentation. Stay away.
