This listing confused me at first: it’s posted here on craigslist in the UK, but clearly the cars are in the U.S. based on the background surroundings. Turns out they are, so maybe this seller in Houston thinks UK buyers are looking for USDM Mercedes W123 diesels. Whatever the case, there’s several cars up for grabs but most of them are supposedly the 300CD variety, even though the listing only shows one of those! Not the best-written ad we’ve ever seen, but each car is $1,900 if you buy all of them, so clearly the seller is hoping a shop will take the whole package to either keep other cars on the road or bring a few of them back to life to re-sell. What would you do with 13 diesel Mercedes? Thanks to Barn Finds reader Olaf E. for the find.

US/ UK exchange rates make it very favorable to sell cars back to europe. Finding rust free examples in the UK is near impossible, and lots of brokers in southern states market heavily to overseas buyers. It’s the same reason we drag cars from California up tothe midwest. Shipping costs less than metal work. Not to mention the novelty of a left hand drive car in the uk. Take a look at the uk craigslist some time. It is filled with us cars available to export
Actually, don’t look at the uk craigslist. If you are like me it will just make you angry due to all the cars we are not allowed to buy in the us. Like a 2010 land rover defender with 25k miles for £8000. Or and ex military defender 110 with a turbo diesel and a manual transmission. Both of which we can’t own at any price because we live in a “free” country
He’ll deliver 13 cars to the Airport for $2275? Is it really cost effective to send cars like this overseas on a plane? I would think it would be much cheaper by boat.
Uh..so does the seller have mostly 300CD’s or 300SD’s?? I only see 1 CD and there is a big difference in value between the two models. SD’s sell for between $1-$4k and CD’s can fetch as much as $17k if nice.
selling with no batteries, so how can say they all run? how do ship without having a battery to start the car and move it? all sounds fishy to me.
Just start them all using one battery pack. Well, if the alternators are working on gas powered cars. Diesels just need to start.
