1947 Chrysler Town And Country: Good Wood

chryslerwoody

Have you ever wondered what’s lurking in those storage unit farms that dot the landscape? Of course, I always believed there is a special car like this 1947 Chrysler Town & Country here on craigslist socked away inside. It makes me wonder if it’s someone’s project that they’ve decided they’ll never get to, or perhaps a long-forgotten car that was left behind when an owner passed away. Whatever the circumstances, this Town & Country appears surprisingly intact, and from a distance, the grainy craigslist photos seem to reveal that the wood paneling is in salvageable shape. I actually like the sedan body on these quite a bit, and the period roof rack is a nice touch. Not much more info is given other than that it will be sold at public auction presumably near Fort Wayne. Have you ever discovered a classic in a storage unit? Thanks to Barn Finds reader Brad C. for the find.

Leave it as is? Sorry, some vehicles are definitely good with the “patina” look. This is NOT one of them! Did you see, in the pics you supplied, how magnificent the wood looks on ones properly redone? This one appears to have more wood in the trunk area than any of the others, thus the beauty would only be enhanced with a restoration! I do wood working as one of my hobbies but I could never do justice to that vehicle!!! Hope a BF’er purchases it!

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then I’m afraid I must be blind. Butt ugly IMO. It’s even an ugly car without the wood.
