This charming little French convertible was sent in by prolific Barn Finds reader Robert R. With its wraparound windshield, convertible top and vague Thunderbird overtones, this car really captures the essence of the late 1950’s. The pictures in the auction here on eBay illustrate a car that has been well taken care of in the forgiving climate of California. The car was actually stored indoors from 1976 until recently and comes with a lot of documentation, including the original bill of sale, manuals and maintenance records. It does run and drive and the selling dealer assures that it can be driven and enjoyed “as-is”. With a nice original interior and paint that still looks good, I sure don’t see the need to do anything else!
Simca was formed from Ford of France so the “Thunderbird” styling is not a surprise
All of those pics, and none of the engine. 29K is a little far fetched I am thinking.
If this car started off with a $29K asking, then the seller must have read randy’s comment—-or at least the writing on the wall, since there’s just regular bidding now and no $29K to be seen anywhere. It’s bid to $7100 so far.
This is the kind of foreign car that people in No America made fun of back in the last century. The car was small and the name was funny. The French mostly thought No American cars were too big and soft and used too much fuel. How things have changed, since one of the most popular car brands is Buick…in China.
