Here’s a great old truck at a very reasonable price, a 1967 Ford shortbed F100 for $1400. With all the zeros folks are adding to their prices these days, it’s nice to see a realistic price occasionally. This looks like a great starting place for whatever someone wants to do with this. The owner says he’s owned it since new and it has only 55,000 miles. I don’t see grass growing through the floorboards or the bed, but if this has been sitting in a field, the bottom could prove interesting. It’s a got a 6 cylinder engine that turns through a 3 speed. What would you do with this? If it’s not rusted too badly, I’d get it running, shoot the patina with clear and have a great truck to lend to friends when they ask for help. What would you do with this? It’s listed here on craigslist in Cumberland County, Virginia.

Great to start the day with a chuckle. If you believe the 55K mile thing, you’re a better person than me. Ford made like a billion of these, so they aren’t exactly rare. I’ve seen better in junk yards. Based on the interior pics, can you imagine the horrors under the hood. Now, if it actually had 55K miles (and looked like it), that would be a different story.
Boy I wish this was closer to me I would take a serious look at it. I’ve been looking for a old Ford parts hauler and this fits the bill. Just too far away to be realistic. I would get it running and stoppable, new tires , make sure all electrical works then sand it down myself and primer it dark gray or black, replace seat and drive it.
rough looking old truck but the seller is taking offers. do the PI, looking very close at the frame, than make an offer. make it safe and put it to work. interesting find.
I agree with JW. This could be a good weekend hauler. Check the underside to see if anything fatal is hiding there.
My dad special-ordered one of these shortbeds in ’69 with 360 V8 and C6 automatic (and A/C!) for pulling his boat. Excellent truck, the guy he sold it to ran it to 149K miles without overhaul before he sold it. I’d love to find it, but it probably got fed to the crusher long ago.
As for this one–except for the seat and the dash pad, the interior is almost all steel, even the door panels; and the big Ford six is a major plus. These trucks rusted early in the bed area; the floor would rust out, and also the seams running down the bed sides. When these trucks were redesigned for ’73, Ford eliminated the side seams and galvanized the bed floors–a big help.
First the “original” owner needs to spend some time in the stockade for neglecting this truck. Hope someone on here gets a great truck at a great buy.
Sick of sellers using the plausible deniability of a five-digit odometer to try and cash in. Wake up and smell the rot!
Amazing what people think a rust bucket is worth.
It would cost a couple hundred bucks just for grinding disks and primer!k
