This 1967 VW Beetle here on craigslist is a gracefully aging example with an intriguing barn companion! Sent in by Barn Finds reader Harlan B, the paint is well-worn but has been given some extra style with Von Dutch-style pinstriping. I like these older models, with the slimmer taillights and overall more graceful proportions than the 70s-era Beetle. Plus, it looks perfectly old-school on the steel wheels and hubcaps, a look that really draws in the similarities between the Beetle and the original Porsche 356 bathtub design. Perhaps the seller could be talked into letting both cars go as part of a package deal – you never know unless you try!

1967 VW Beetle: Interesting Stablemate

Well, it all looks 67 except the headlights. No glass covers on the 67 headlights, but first year for 12 volts and the double heat riser air cleaner. 67s came with dual bumper mounted backup lights too, I don’t think I see any on this car, but it’s been a few years! Mine cost $1995 brand new, but I don’t wish I still had it. I do wish I had the Healey I traded it for a few years later!
It’s a ’66 with a 12 conversion unless someone changed out the front fenders for older ones. In ’67, the headlights were 12 volt sealed beams which are the ones used on all post-’66 bugs. Nice car, though. Disk brakes are VERY nice on a Volkswagen; I would know!
He wants 45k for the Porsche. Nice guy, called me right back. Typical rust issues with the car.
i do not think the car came new with disc brakes. this would need a good PI. interesting find.
