American Motors cars are getting a lot more attention these days, and the AMX average sale price is $14,ooo. This AMX listed on eBay for $7,600 in Rome, Georgia. It hasn’t been on the road since 1968. It runs, though, and there is no apparent rust. It has a 280 horsepower 343 with a four speed and disc brakes. The clutch is stuck on the flywheel. And there is collision damage to the right quarter. The interior is really nice except for the carpet and sagging headliner. I can’t imagine driving this with the horrible paint. If there really is no rust and there is no major expense when you do the mechanicals, perhaps this might be worth the bodywork and paint it would take to bring this AMX back to life? At the price there is probably no money to be made by a flipper but perhaps it would be worthwhile to someone who loves American Motors and the AMX.

I wish amc came out with a 450 plus cubic inch 450 plus hp engine for the last years of sports car production just because.
