1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible!

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible may not be ready to drive, but with a numbers-matching engine and four-speed transmission included it has great potential! It is being sold here on eBay where the buy-it-now number is $18,500 and the car’s current home is listed as Justin, Texas.

The 1969 Camaro received its first (and one-year-only) styling refresh since being introduced in 1967, and Chevrolet truly embraced the stronger aspects of the car, giving it more curves and a refined, muscular shape. As the ad said, “…as close as you can come to a pure sports car and still get a back seat and trunk in the deal.” Targeting like that helped the Camaro team escape the wrath of the Corvette loyalists!

This particular SS needs some bodywork help. The seller notes that the trunk pan has already been cut out and a replacement panel is sitting in the location, but there are also small holes in the floor pans and some past repairs to the quarter panels may need attention.

The seller also shows their scorn for a previous owner of the Camaro by noting that “some dum nut” (sic) replaced the front end with a fiberglass one. At least we know where they stand! Unfortunately, the seller states that poor health is forcing the sale of the Camaro, and they have several other projects for sale on eBay as well.

I’ve lightened this picture from the ad as much as I can to show the details of the interior; the seats look saveable, especially for a driver, but you’ll have to decide whether or not you want to replace the pale yellow exterior with a coat of the original Fathom green. It’s also a shame that there aren’t pictures of the drivetrain; however, given the quality of the rest of the pictures, I’m not sure we’d find much useful. 9.4% of 1969 Camaros were painted the dark metallic shade and I find it very attractive, so I know what I’d be doing. What about you?

    At least it’s a 350 and not a 307. Lousy pictures.

I guess curves are in the eyes of the beholder? It looks curvier to me, especially when viewed from the top. I have 67 and 69 Camaro models in front of me as I type and I stand by my writing. As far as where I come from, I’ve been writing for BF since 2014 and my bio is available through the site. Also, assume for a moment I’m wrong — it would be nice if your comment were written in a constructive tone as opposed to attacking (which is against the rules of the site). I’m leaving the comment up because I have a thick skin, but please consider your tone if you address any other commenters.

Got to agree with a smoother curvier look. Your write ups are always excellent and informative.

Just out of curiosity, what generation are you putting me in? I’m betting I’m older than you think…

I too am old enough to know a fool when I hear him call names, categorize and just say foolish things. Jamie, don’t give credence to his banter. Guys like that you just let them blow their faces off and eventually they will go away.
