1972 Ford E-Series: Custom Shorty Van

1972 Ford Van

Remember the psychedelic Corvette from a few days ago? Well, its partner in crime just popped up on eBay in much better condition. This 1972 Ford E-Series Shorty van is listed here on eBay with a Buy-it-Now of $15,000, a price that might actually be justified given the level of detail in this surfer van conversion. From the paint to the interior, it all looks incredibly well-planned and executed. Just the ingredients list for the interior alone are impressive: naugahyde surfaces, deep shag carpet, swivel seating, a sofa bed, surfboard tables and hidden storage! The new wheels and tires look proper on this short-wheelbase Ford, and the level of color coordination is impressive. I keep coming back to these icons of ’70s style and expression as a potential future project; heck, the practicality alone would make it a worthy addition to any classic fleet. Do you agree?

I really like the Ford vans of this style before they put the huge nose on them. The exterior of this van is amazing! The green interior not so much. Nice van! Great pictures. I wish every seller on eBay was this thorough with their pictures.

I thought this van looked familiar. It was featured in Hemmings a month ago for half the price. Oh well, this is America. We joked this would be right at home in Green Bay, Wis.

Exterior as has been said, is spot on.

Interior is pretty horrible. That green is the wrong choice completely and to be very critical the carpet was a poor choice as well.

If this was a survivor I would forgive it.

As a throwback resto it just comes off as amateur.

Love the exterior but the interior sucks. After seeing the Hemings ad, I’d pass only at 13000 right now
