This 2002Tii is in Adrian, Michigan and listed here on eBay with a $10,500 asking price. If you are looking for an interesting 2002 project, this maybe the one for you. As you can see the “project” as been started, with more images below to see what’s been done and what’s still left to do.
The vehicle was stripped down to bare metal. New rocker panels, quarter and driver side fender were installed. The lights, trim, front and rear windshield are said to be in good condition and are included. The floors are said to be solid. There is a small hole under where the spare in placed.
The seller states that there are 61,617 miles on this 2002 and it does start and run off a gas can, since the gas tank was removed. Seats are said to be in good condition with minor wear on the driver’s side.
The trim is said to be in fair condition and bumpers (one with a dent) should be re-chromed. There is an ANSA exhaust and a Allison Coil which are included. The dash has a crack by the clock and there is a small snag in the headliner. The factory original Fjord Metallic (code 037) paint is included. The owner states he has “countless new parts and time invested, great project car for someone who has the time to invest to finish”. Could you be the one to finish this project?

It would be real fun trying to remove masking tape that’s been there for 13 years. Way too expensive.
Roundie Tii’s are the most desirable of the bunch, but definitely no fun putting a car back together even IF you were the one to disassemble it.
This is perhaps a 5k car at absolute most in this condition, even though it’s a Tii.
You can buy very nice running and driving cars for a lot less than this one.
All the above comments aside. The amount and quality level of work put into this car makes it appear that this was a labor of love! I kind of feel bad for the dude IF he really has an “issue” forcing him to sell it! If he simply lost interest and is just trying to bail scott free, well, the world just doesn’t work like that!! Sorry to break it to ya’!!!!

Tii cars of this vintage can get 20-25K in nice condition, so with this one you’ve got a 10K buy-in, then transportation costs, paint, reassembly, headliner, tires, etc. etc. I could envision spending a year reassembling it and probably another 5K in parts and 5K at least in paint, and you’ve got a break-even 25K car that you worked on for free, which is SOP in the hobby classic car world, right?
If you’re a 2002 guy and kept it and enjoyed it then that would justify the expense, or if you sold it and broke even and the garage therapy helped keep your BP in check, then that’s worth it too. Still, it would be better to pay 5K though.
