1984 Corvette: Ramshackle Hotel

1984 Chevrolet Corvette

Here’s a listing for a 1984 Chevy Corvette here on eBay with lots of needs and some interesting stablemates. And what a stable it is – from what I can see, the lift next to the Corvette is made of wood and supporting a Porsche 928; stuffed on either side of the Corvette are a pair of Honda CRXs and a completely ordinary Saturn (though maybe it’s an emerging classic with the brand’s demise). I’m guessing a forklift was employed to put the Porsche above the other projects which tells you a bit about this operation. The Corvette has lots of needs, from the missing transmission to an engine rebuild and even a shoddy interior. Personally, it’s not worth it to me, but it might open up a discussion about a cheap package deal for the Corvette and the 928 – part out one to finance the rebuild of the other. Or am I dreaming?

Any price that involves a comma is too much.

whats even more interesting is that the 928 is a Euro spec car. Soooo much more interesting than the Vette.

*Whenever you see a claw hammer next to a disassembled engine you should have reason for concern !!!!

There is a nice ’84 Corvette on eBay right now with bidding at $2,375. The C4 Corvettes are some of the best buys around and restoration bucks are best spent on something that will be worth more than the cost of the car plus restoration when you’re done.

The smart play is to part it out. Totally not worth it, even if free.

It would probably take the combined brain power of the manhattan project to get that 928 to run again.

Sad thing is if the CRX is an Si, it’s probably worth more than the ‘vette.

One day I would love to have a 928 and the budget that one would have to have in order to it. The C4 Corvette was, IMHO, the most non eye catching, non performing, overpriced piece of fiberglass ever built with that illustrious badge attached to it!! With that being said, I would run, not walk, away before the sink hole, that needs to suddenly appear, does so!
