The prices of used pickups seem to be skyrocketing with no end in sight. This 1986 Chevrolet C10 is seeing very strong bidding and is being sold at no reserve. It can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $8,400. Located in Saltville, Virginia, the seller uses the phrase “guy told me” and “was told” a few times, which always makes me a little cautious. Overall, it looks like a really nice truck and I’m guessing the seller is capitalizing on the recent increase in value. What do you think of the recent trend of used truck prices?
The interior looks like it could use a freshen-up but doesn’t look bad overall. The seller says there is a new seat cover and carpet that are included with the sale. The dash and door panels look pretty good and this truck could certainly be driven as-is.
The engine is the original 305 cubic inch V8 that is backed by a 350 transmission. The seller doesn’t say a lot about the running condition other than it has been their daily driver and has had no issues. The air conditioning works and one of the two gas tanks will need to be serviced before use.
The seller says they believe the paint is “80% original.” Overall, this truck presents well and it’s no surprise that it is seeing strong bidding. Hopefully, the new owner will enjoy it. If this was your truck, would you make any modifications to it or drive it as-is?
Big block time.
I’d be tempted to leave as is. Or modernize with an LS swap and 4T60.
Nice p/u my dad had one just like it!
I found having one tank fillup on each side very inconvenient. (Ford had both on the same side.) You could never get the truck 100% full in one trip to the station. The upside was the flexibility at the pump of being able to use either side.
