1990 Dodge Power Ram 150 Short Bed 360 V8

It’s been 15 years since Dodge separated its pickup line into the Ram series, and I still can’t get used to not referring to them as a Dodge. It’s still a Dodge pickup to me. Change is hard for some people, I guess. This cool 1990 Dodge Power Ram 150 4×4 short bed is listed here on eBay in Tacoma, Washington, there is no reserve, and the current bid price is just $2,252.

Crew cab vintage pickups get all the love these days, it seems like. You rarely see a new single-cab pickup that isn’t a work truck, but there’s something about a single-cab pickup with a short bed that gets to me. This example looks like it was used for work; there are dings, dents, and a few scratches and nicks here and there. Overall, though, it’s a pretty good-looking truck, I think.

1990 was still the era of the D-Series Dodge pickups, or the Dodge Ram pickups, as they were called for the 1981 model year, through 2009, after which the brand was reborn as Ram. We don’t get to see inside the box/bed of this truck, and you can see a few dents around the back, so I’m assuming it may look like, well, like a working pickup bed floor back there. The underside appears rock solid, and they say there is zero rust or rot on this Power Ram.

I got excited when I saw the long shifter, but it’s for the transfer case. This truck has a TorqueFlite automatic and column shifter, not to mention one huge brake pedal. The interior looks great for what is under a $2,500 truck as I write this. I can’t imagine this 4×4 shortbed truck selling for anything near that price, but you never know. The seller says this was a State of Washington truck and was with the Department of Fish & Wildlife. The air-conditioning is said not to be working.

This is Dodge’s 360-cu.in. OHV V8, which would have had 190 horsepower and around 290 lb-ft of torque. It’s sent through that automatic transmission and the transfer case to all four wheels as needed, and it’s said to run and drive as it should, and the 4WD system also works as it should. How much will this Power Ram sell for?

Lots of little dings and dents, but no rust. It’s a 4×4 short bed fleetside which is as desirable as it gets on the enthusiast side of the market, the problem is it’s not a Ford or Chevy. For whatever reason Mopar people will pay up for the worst 68-70 Charger of 70-71 E-body, but not most trucks. Bidding should be far from over, it will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Ram is a stupid name for a truck.

$4,000 is maxed for the Dodge. It’s 4wd and it works as per seller. AC parts are still available and have to convert to new system. 187,000 would be a lot for a normal truck. But since it was a State truck with no rust and maintenance done on this. It’s worth buying. I would not mined owning this. It would be fun in NY with the snow. First I would undercoat the frame and other spots. The 360 is a good engine but, i don’t know if its a 2 or 4 bbl. I seen some with the 4 bbl and its quick. Well good luck to the next owner. 🐻🇺🇸

A lot of unpainted metal pulleys, etc in the engine bay. They only thing that stands out is the air cleaner. That’s an easy re-paint.
