A dealer in Lincoln, Nebraska is selling this 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28. It is listed here on eBay with 1 day remaining in the auction. The Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28 is said to only have 20,000 miles on the odometer. The bidding has reached a healthy $43,400 before the auction ends tomorrow. This Camaro IROC Z28 is loaded with options including T-Tops and is powered by a 5.7 liter V8 engine.
The grey cloth interior looks like new. This 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28 was originally sold at H & H Chevrolet in Omaha, Nebraska. The car is said to have stayed in the Midwest its entire life and treated like a collector car which means stored and not driven in inclement weather. Pictures of the undercarriage show that to be true with no visible rot or rust. The IROC Z28 comes with substantial documentation including the original factory invoice, purchase documents and service records.
The 5.7 liter V8 engine is backed by a 4 speed automatic transmission. The 350 cubic inch engine was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 330 lb ft of torque which was a slight increase from the prior year. To verify that the engine is a real 5.7 liter TPI IROC, a buyer can examine the VIN and look for an 8 in the engine code designation slot. When compared to prior years, you will notice that the large IROC-Z decal moved to the back of the door on the driver and passenger side. Also, the 16″ aluminum wheels were slightly redesigned with 2 lines instead of 1 large line in each spoke.
This 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z28 has rear window louvres which some people love and others loathe. The car is equipped with G80 limited slip rear differential, J65 four wheel disc brakes and other nice features like tilt steering, power drivers seat, cruise control, variable windshield wipers and a power antenna. The AC is said to blow cold and the dealer even offers financing and shipping.
That’s a Wow!
Completely gorgeous although the louvers go in the trash bin first thing, like Bruce says its love or loathe. I’d invest in a new hood pad also, as per the rest total dream, i love it
If you lived in the southern half of this country you’d love the louvers. Our Daytona Z had the factory louvers and they were mighty handy for 100 plus degree Oklahoma summers.
Sold for $44 large this morning. Beautiful car. Sad that they didn’t offer the 5.7 with a manual, automatic only. Still, if I were looking for a late 80’s, early 90’s IROC, this one would be what I would be looking for.
Thank you FBD, you just answered my question concerning tranny options..
I know someone who owned one of these. Got stolen twice. The last and final time the police found it behind a group of retail stores. Completely stripped. Including the interior.
These cars really looked good on the outside. The interiors where really cheap and poorly designed. They where patheticly slow but, nothing a weekend swap wouldn’t solve.
how bad was it wrecked early in life. check the left shock tower.
I agree with Robert. First thing, get rid of the louvers. I had an 87′ with the 5.7. I wouldn’t say it was “slow”. 0-60 in approx 6 seconds and a top end of 150 mph was definitely not slow in 1987. It had boatloads of torque. Fun car to drive. Loved it.
Great car I had one of these cars as a dealer demo when I sold new chevys only thing quicker was a vette
