25K Original Miles: 1995 Chevrolet Corvette

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

The last hurrah of the classic C4 Corvette remains on my short list of vehicles to own before it’s either too late or values climb too high (and those scenarios effectively go hand-in-hand.) The 1995 model seen here is a low mileage specimen with just under 26,000 original miles, making it one of the lower mileage non-ZR1 examples for sale at the moment. Sporting great colors and an automatic transmission, the Corvette looks sharp in pictures, but does have some cosmetic tweaks reflecting the tastes of the current owner; fortunately, all of it is reversible. Find the Corvette here on craigslist with an asking price of $18,475.

As you’ll note in the top photo, the Corvette is wearing its standard-issue factory wheels, and they look great – just the way a C4 should sit. They’ve also been refinished, which helps explain why they look as good as they do. Now, in this photo, the Corvette is wearing later production Corvette Z06 wheels with a chrome finish, which – I’m sorry to say – don’t look nearly as good. I applaud the seller for trying to keep any modifications contained to the Corvette family of parts, but there are better choices out there. Like, for example, the five spoke design found on the ZR1 and other C4s, available with both a chrome and silver painted finish (go with the latter if you decide to swap these out.) Also, ditch the bars across the taillights, please.

The leather bucket seats look to be in very good condition, and there’s certainly been some detailing going on considering the sheen we can see in these photos. The seats are powered, and there’s the usual assortment of comfort/convenience features offered as standard equipment. This Corvette also comes with two factory tops and an optional “black tubular” targa bar, apparently valued at $400. The seller claims the Corvette is completely original, aside from the battery, tires, fluids, filters, and shocks. No word on what he replaced the suspension components with – it would have been a great time to incorporate an upgrade or two, but the Corvette doesn’t appear to sit any lower than its normal stock height in the photos. .

Here we can see some other personalization attempts, as I can’t recall seeing this much red in other C4 engine bays of this era. The seller is clearly proud of this Corvette, noting that its previous owners regularly entered the car into local shows. This doesn’t mean much, as your neighborhood car show is hardly a gathering place for the Bloomington Gold judges – so taking home some hardware isn’t exactly a crowning achievement. Still, there’s no doubt muscle car fans of every stripe will flock to see this low-mileage example, which will also come with the owner’s manual, several sets of keys, and a thick stack of receipts detailing past maintenance. It’s hard to go wrong with a C4 Corvette, especially ones with low mileage and remaining in mostly stock condition.

Finally a decent car at a reasonable price.

Not reasonably priced. $13,000 is reasonably priced. The low mileage is a nice feature, but this car will be driven and the depreciation will continue. I own an NCRS Top Flight 1995, 6-speed with no modifications and/or cosmetic “upgrades” with 48K miles. If anybody wants to give me $16,500 they can come and get it today.

True, this would need to be a 1996 LT4 to command that price. Dont get me wrong, I like C4’s and think they are a great performance car value but this is priced a bit high.

Not reasonably priced! But this is the sweet spot for C4s. It is generally thought you should get a ’91 if you like the L98 or a 1994-96 if you like the LT1.

This should bring in about 10k, which by my guesstimation is the top of the market for a non ZR1/GS without delivery miles on it.

Very tempting – if only I could get him to knock $5000 off and then sell the Z06 wheels for another $500… Amazing how much better it looks with the stock wheels.

If you’re willing to pay 13k for this then the seller should give you a plane ticket and your food and lodging for the drive back home.

Hagerty says #2 Condition value is $16,500. And the say 10% deduct for automatic. I’m not a huge Hagerty pricing fan but this pretty much blows the $18K dream out of the water. As Bruce Hornsby once sang- “That’s Just The Way It Is”

I sold my ’95 3 years ago for $11,700. It had 54K miles, pristine rims due to the previous owner installing disc covers, black over gray, sport seats, automatic. Buyer was happy, I was happy.

This is a nice car, but not $7,000 nicer than what I had. It reminds me of a Ferrari 275 GTB that somehow made it into Pebble Beach. It had frog stickers on the dash and some goofy license plate frame among other atrocities. The judges were very polite to the open-shirted and gold-chained owner.

Haters gonna hate. If you can get this car for $10,000, I’ll give you a 20% finders fee for everyone you get. I have learned that it is always better to spend a premium for a spotless, low mileage, well-maintained car than to save a couple of thousand dollars for something that needs some work or even just cleaning. This example is spotless. If you are in the market, make him an offer and see what happens.

And it’s still for sale. If it were priced correctly it would have been gone in two days.Especially in Northern Virginia
