This grand old convertible sure brings back memories of the days of chrome and excess! This example looks complete, but I’m skeptical about the “only 27,000 miles” claim. The respray is unfortunate, but the seller does mention that it sat outside for a short period of time so it’s possible that the miles are correct. If the bidding stays reasonable and the reserve isn’t too high, this could be a great car to just enjoy as-is. Everyone has a place they’d love to cruise with the top down and this Olds has plenty of room to bring along your friends. With a powerful 394 Skyrocket under the hood, you shouldn’t have any problem moving everyone down the road either! Find it here on eBay out of Meridian, Idaho where the bidding starts at $500.
I love the body style but would find a better example. This one just needs too much and mileage doesn’t matter when everything is whopped and tired. Good ones sell in the teens.
I don’t know – for 10k or thereabouts this car is a pretty good deal – solid, well equipped and rare.
I just hope that the market doesn’t figure out that Starfires, Wildcats and 2+2s are woefully underpriced before I can find one of each! Best kept secret ever….
Considering the VERY low feedback rating I believe I would do a bit more due diligence.
I had a 62 Starfire in 62. Red Convertible with silver interior. Perhaps one of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever had. I’ve never seen another like it.

My dad had one of these but a 4 door hardtop, exterior gold with a white top and bench seat gold interior, I remember it had a speedometer that had a line that went across and would be green up to 30 mph then yellow up to 60 then amber up to 90 and of course I had to see the red at 100+. It was a spare vehicle that any of us 4 kids could use if our cars broke down. He didn’t let us drive his Caddy.
There is no way that this car has only gone 27,000 miles. Judging by the interior and trunk photos it’s least 127,000, maybe even 227K miles. It’s been used hard and had little or no care expended. A close look at the photos of exterior bumpers and trim, and dash trim shows a lots of pitting and corrosion. May be a good restoration candidate — just bring deep pockets — but it’s a fairly mediocre car that appears to be grossly misrepresented by the seller. And I agree 100% with Jerry about using due diligence with this seller.
Again the 5 digit odometer. “Only has 27815 miles on it” I guess technically the seller is correct when he states the mileage BUT he should state the odometer reads 27815 and actual mileage unknown. My guess is same as SoCal Car Guy, at least once around and maybe twice. Does the rear bumper look out of alignment? been rear ended? or side swiped? Bondo filler in the rear 1/4 panels?

I’d ask for a refund from whoever installed that top.
Flippers are funny. They seem to think that no one seees the lipstick on the pig. New top…..but needs top motor, not yet installed? Front seat looks like the drivers had ball bearings attached to his butt. Was there an aquarium in the trunk? I’d love to own this model but as I recall when you couldnt give them away for 1500 bucks………..i couldnt see going over $4500.00.AFTER a PPI. The internet exacerbates many folks worst tendencies.
