335,000 Miles! 1969 Chevrolet Camaro

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

This may be the highest mileage Chevrolet we’ve seen here on Barn Finds over the years. We’re told this 1969 Camaro has its original drivetrain and the V8 engine has been rebuilt twice to keep it going. It’s going to need some bodywork and there is an electrical gremlin that needs sorting out. From a shed in North Little Rock, Arkansas, this old soldier is available here on craigslist for $8,500 OBO. Our thanks to Chuck Foster for finding this old Chevy!

The third and final year of the first-generation Chevy Camaro had a 15-month production run. The 1969 Camaro’s had been extended by three months due to delays in getting the all-new models ready for assembly. For the best looking (IMHO) of the 1967-69 Camaro’s, the 327 cubic inch V8 would be in its last year, as the 350 had already begun to replace it. Oddly, both engines would be offered in 1969 and the horsepower output was nearly the same.

This dark green Camaro is “the little choo choo that could” as the odometer supposedly is on its fourth go around. Its owners weren’t willing to let the car die and the 327 was redone twice while the rest of the drivetrain has also remained original. Apparently, the car originated in California and the seller drove it to Arkansas where it rests now, but it appears to have been dormant for a while. There is some rust, but the amount is hard to tell in the limited photos. The interior has been redone (years ago) and an aftermarket stereo was added, causing the console to be modified. The buyer’s first challenge will be to find out why the car has gone through four batteries and two alternators in search of a discharge issue in the electrical department.

I really find it hard to believe that on Wednesday afternoon at 5:18 PM EST this is still available. Looks like a deal to me.

Hope it goes to a good home. Prices coming down, it seems. Hopefully there’s hope for ol grey hairs like me to afford another project. Good luck and happy motoring!

335K is a lot of miles.. but.. my 87 El Camino now has 746k on the untouched 305 4v. Hopefully the Camaro has been taken care of like my Camino.

My thoughts too: wow !, green, AC, a sweet deal.. and ya, SOLD.
My 99 Suburban that works hard, owes me nothing, still pulling 8000lbs around regularly, AC running on idle on 90+° days, mostly all US made parts, at almost 300k and only replacements have been injectors, fuel pump and air pump, tires, fluids and lots of brake pads.
If you want a well built truck, Chevrolet built these .. well, “like a rock” ;)

Probably the most honest listing I have ever seen on this site. Finally a 50+ year old car that has averaged more than 6,000 mile per year.

I have a 2002 camaro(V-6, 5 speed) my wife bought near the end of 2002 new, drove it everyday and all we did was change the oil regularly! It was parked for about a year and this year I decided to drive it again so I can see the odometer turn over 300,000 miles, was 294,000 and now 295,000 miles! I think I have done the brakes 3 times!
