The Camaro was Chevrolet’s response to the hugely successful Ford Mustang. The genre would become known as “pony cars” and GM got into the game in 1967 with the Camaro and its cousin, the Pontiac Firebird. This ’67 Camaro may have been fairly basic when new with a 327 V8 and 3-speed manual transmission. But both are gone now in favor of something else. We’re told this Camaro has been sitting for a while and does run but does not stop. As a project, it’s in Oologah, Oklahoma and available here on craigslist for $15,000.
Chevy built 221,000 Camaros in the car’s first year, of which more than 25,000 came with the engine (L30) that was once in the seller’s machine. It was the Turbo-Fire V8 that was rated at 275 hp. Sometime prior to the seller acquiring the car, a small-block 400 landed under the hood (that engine was first available in 1970. The manual tranny was dumped in favor of an automatic even though the triple pedals are still in place.
We’re told the seller bought this Chevy as a project to restore but doesn’t have time for it. A new floor pan is pictured in the car but is not installed. The bucket seats were removed and are MIA, so the buyer will have to source replacements. The odometer reading is 60,000 miles, but that probably doesn’t matter at this stage. Before anyone tries to get it going again, you’re going to have to fix the brakes or risk getting into trouble.
That’s a steal…buy it now
Obviously an inspection is needed , but if the car is as solid as it looks , it could be worth the money, even if it does need work
I see a 3rd pedal but no hole in the tunnel and a AT shift and Indicator on the column? Looks semi solid though.
Looks like a great project good price
