434 SBC + Tremec 5-Speed! 1962 Chevrolet Nova

I’ve long been a fan of the Chevrolet Nova, especially the third-generation cars, but the early models sort of have a charm all their own and when you run across one that’s been given all the right stuff there’s just something almost captivating about it.  A case in point is this 1962 Chevy II, and while it looks really cool on the outside, wait ’til you see what’s inside!  The Nova is located in Levittown, New York, and can be found here on eBay with a current bid of $30,200, not enough yet for the owner to let it go as the reserve has not been met.

The seller says his Nova serves a dual purpose, as it’s a good choice for those who like to go to car shows on Saturday and then to the race track on Sunday.  The Chevy spent a long time in an indoor garage in Utah with 67k miles on it before the current owner acquired the car in 2020, and there is said to be zero rust anywhere.  The seller rates the turquoise paint job an 8.5 on a 10 scale and mentions one small chip on the edge of the driver’s side door that has been touched up.  The car has bigs and littles, with 15″ x 10″ wheels on the rear and 15″ x 4″ up front, and the seller chose the plexiglass hood scoop because he was a fan of seeing them on some of Dick Harrell’s race cars in the sixties.

Under that scoop is a Skip White built 434 cubic-inch SBC (Small Block Chevy) V8 with flat-top 10.9 pistons, AFR 220 heads, an Edelbrock intake, a 950 CFM carb, tube headers, and lots more goodies, plus more good news is that the car runs on 92 octane pump gas.  There’s a Tremec 5-Speed manual transmission, a McLeod RST clutch, a Moser 12-Bolt rear-end with 4.10 gears, and a mini-tub kit from Detroit Speed.  The seller claims that the entire car is a high-quality build that starts right up, shifts effortlessly, and drives comfortably.  It’s pretty impressive from down below too.

Things inside are presenting nicely as well, with new carpeting and aftermarket Procar front seats covered in NOS upholstery from SS fabrics.  There’s also a new rear seat cushion and covering plus a new package tray, but the door panels, headliner, and painted surfaces inside are still original.  Stewart Warner gauges fill the dash, and all the glass is factory OEM.  I’m really liking how this low-mileage Nova transformation turned out, how about you?  Any ballpark ideas on where the seller may have set the reserve price?

This is a nice car. Workmanship gets a high grade and the design of the modifications blends well into the original design of the car.

1st class take on the American hot rod theme. A hyper-effective combination, beautifully executed. Deleted speedo is super cool. Hat tip to the builder.

Neat little car but kinda useless for the track, needs at least a 6 point cage otherwise it would never pass tech.
