460-Powered 1993 Ford F-250 SuperCab 4×4

A few years ago, my father-in-law sold his ’95 F-250 SuperCab 4×4. Powered by the famous 7.3 Power Stroke, I made the mistake of letting his truck idle outside my dining room window on a cold day after I picked it up from my local body shop. It sounded and smelled like the school buses of my memory, and I remember thinking, “Now that’s a truck.” My wife wasn’t as amused. Still, this is what a real truck looks like circa 1993. While this one has the burly gasoline-powered 460 under the hood, it’s still built to haul big loads and pull big trailers up a hill. It won’t be as comfortable as a new truck, but you also don’t have to worry about a no-start condition because something in the touch screen glitched, and that’s something. Located in Dickinson, North Dakota, this ’93 is being sold on eBay, and I imagine that plenty of people will be willing to spend a bit of cash on this clean 52,000-mile original.

As I mentioned, this F-250 has Ford’s big block under the hood, and with 230 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, it was capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds according to the brochure (whether powered by diesel or gas). I’m not really sure if this truck would be more desirable with the Power Stroke; feel free to leave your opinion in the comment section.

Just because a new truck might be fancier doesn’t mean that this Ford is a stripper; it has air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering wheel. That distinctively ’90s Ford cloth seating surface is nearly pristine, as is most of the truck. The seller says that there is “zero rust on painted surfaces” and “some surface rust on [the] frame.” It’s not perfect; there are stone chips here and there, but everything on the truck suggests that it’s a well-preserved original. It’s hard to think of this F-250 as a 32-year-old truck, but it is.

Anyone remember riding in the back of one of these SuperCabs? I do, on a trip in the Wyoming mountains with my aforementioned father-in-law. I’ve never been good about not getting carsick in the back seat, and after an hour being tossed around on two-tracks, my wooziness left me hoping to never see a bench like this again. Still, look how nice the interior is.

This is a truck that you could either put to work immediately or preserve as if it’s 1998 and you’re looking at a five-year-old truck on the Ford dealer’s used car lot. It will be interesting to see the high bid on this F-250, because it would be tough to find a nicer one.

Max towing is with the 4.56 ratio differential, take a couple thousand lbs. off if this one has the 3.55 ratio. Good news, it will get better mileage.

I have a 1997 F350 ,4×4 with the same driveline that I purchased in 1998. Wouldn’t trade it for anything ,but happy I don’t use it for an everyday driver at almost 10 mile per gallon. I love the truck

Gas mileage isn’t everything and this truck is proof 97 was the last year for this body in the F250/350 at over $10k and still hasn’t cracked the reserve we will see if it hits the seller’s dream price.

Buy this truck, add true duals with some nice Flowmasters, and scare the neighbors with their plastic Tellurides and Prius.
