When you’ve got a good thing, you don’t mess with it. That’s what Ford did with the Crown Victoria. By 1990, they had been using the downsized Panther platform for 12 years, and with a few revisions along the way, the greatest being in 1988, Ford was fine with minimal changes. This 1990 Ford Crown Victoria LX 4 door sedan is for sale here on eBay in Sweet Grass, Montana.
This car was sold new to a lady in Saskatchewan and the seller purchased it from the estate. When purchased the seller changed all fluids, installed a new Motorcraft ignition module, replaced the valve cover gaskets, new wiper blades and had the AC recharged with R12 after replacing a few seals. They then drove the car over 4,000 miles, including a 1,700 mile round trip from Sweet Grass, Montana to Fargo, North Dakota. The car was perfectly reliable on the trip and on shorter distances without any issues. The car is finished in Gun Metal Gray Metallic and a light gray vinyl top that was so prevalent around this era. The brakes are good but the tires are getting some age on them and probably need replacing. There are a few stone chips but no signs of dents or rust.
The interior is just immaculate. It is so beautiful, I had to show you two pictures of it. I don’t think a Lincoln Town Car of this era would be any plusher.
The gray velour seats are in excellent condition, and there are no dash cracks anywhere. The headliner and carpeting are in great condition as well. Popular accessories on this car are power windows, power door locks, power seats, power antenna, and radio, and they all work.
The car is powered by a 5.0 V8 engine mated with a four-speed overdrive automatic transmission. This Crown Victoria has only been driven 39,000 miles since new, with 4,000 of those miles being driven by the current owner. You just don’t see these around much anymore. This is a 29-year-old car that is in great condition and would be a stand out from all the jelly bean cars on the road these days.
OK, now that fence and yard look familiar. But I don’t see the barn?
As long at the price isn’t outrageous, this would make a decent daily driver! Heck; I’d even use it as a winter car. Collectibility is non-existent, so just drive it daily without the hassle of ruining anything.
My parents had one of these. It was a really nice car. Every once in a while, the child in my Dad would come out and he would do a burnout (sort of) when my Mom wasn’t around. He loved that car.
Another item from Sweet Grass? The town’s already down two trucks and now they are ditching their car?
I had nearly the exact same car, including color and vinyl top. However, mine had the aluminum Ford “turbine” wheels. Literally I bought it from an old lady for $1,200.00 and the day after I got it did a seven hour road trip from my house to San Antonio. Truly the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven and is one of the few cars I’ve had before that I’d like to have back. Thanx for the posting it here!
I had a ’91 Grand Marquis that was this car’s twin. It was quite possibly the best road car I’ve ever owned. I’m interested in this if the price is right.
Great drivers. Someone jump on this one. You won’t regret it.
I just wish it was closer to Tennessee.
We never saw these cars after they were sold except for scheduled maintenance. They never broke, creaked or rattled. Just as reliable as an old brick. ( like mid 60s Pontiacs). Add the police package suspension parts and really have a well handling, driving car.
It is just a tad too large for my tastes.
Nice car.
I am surprised to see a tilt wheel on this 1990 model.
When I purchased my 1990 Mustang GT I was told Ford hadn’t figured out a way to incorporate the tilt wheels with the new air bag.
Like an dolt I believed them.
Just another used car, nothing special.
This is indeed special to many of us, but to each his own.
I had one very much like this, 1991. Going from an 86 with the 351w engine the 91 seemed under powered. Later bought a 92 with the 4.6 that was faster. Still love the square fords of this era.
One original owner plus the flipper equals: 2 Owners!
A dealer is not counted as an owner. If they were even a new car would have 1 previous owner.
My Stepfather has this cars twin. He bought it used in the early 90’s. Leaving work one day he discovered a melted dashboard and burnt seats/carpet. Fords infamous ignition module problem before it went mainstream. Insurance paid out a lot more than he paid for the car. He then bought a 91 Grand Marquis that was noticeably plusher and fancier. That car went over 200k
SOLD at $4,300.
Boring in appearance, but quite the sleeper. Would love to have one.
