Price Drop: 513 Horsepower 1969 Chevrolet Nova!

UPDATE 01/17/2025: It is pretty common for sellers who fail to taste success on their first attempt to relist their classic, hoping to secure a sale. Many won’t change their approach, but the owner of this 1969 Chevrolet Nova is pulling out the stops. Previously listed on eBay, you will find this potent Nova here on Craigslist. They have also slashed the price from $61,000 to $55,000. That is a 10% drop, making this classic, which is located in Riverhead, New York, worth a closer look. I must say a big thank you to Barn Finder Mitchell G. for spotting this returning classic.

12/06/2024: The ’69 Nova came about during the golden age of Chevrolet. The manufacturer offered loads of performance and engine options for its cars during that time and many of them were interchangeable between the Nova, Camaro, Chevelle, and Impala. This means that Novas even today have a wide availability of parts. This example is said to have 26,800 miles.

The Nova is said to be finished in factory Burnished Brown. The paint is fairly unique and in good condition. All the glass is original and appears to be in good condition as well. The seller notes that the car will be accompanied by vintage Halibrand wheels and other extras. In general, the car’s exterior presents well.

The seller states that the Black vinyl interior is original and in great condition for its age. There are no apparent blemishes, tears, or cracks. The cabin is roomy and relatively comfortable. It’s rare to find an original interior in a car from the ’60s that is this nicely preserved. The next owner could just drive and enjoy this car without putting in any extra work with reupholstry.

The engine bay is in impressive condition. The 1970 LS6 engine is said to be 1-of-1,923 LS6s with a CRR code, mated to a 400 turbo transmission. The engine sends a massive 513hp to the rear wheels. The Nova comes with its original spare tire and jack, window sticker, and manual with original cover. This 1969 Nova presents the opportunity to own an incredibly cool and quick vintage vehicle needing no work. The next owner could take it on long road trips, car shows, or modify the engine to create even more power and take it to the drag strip. If this car is something you think you need in your collection, the seller’s price drop might make it irresistible.

I believe we just saw this here about a month ago, still a nice car but all the focus is going to be on the upcoming auctions, especially here in the desert southwest…
Seems to be a lot of repeats lately

      350 396, Never have i heard or seen or Heard a 454 let alone a LS6 in a Nova

Must be a transplant, Neither Nicki or Yenko, or anyone else offered this.

So it looks like this is a regular 350 Nova not an SS but with an auto on the floor and the 454 LS6 that’s described is most likely a transplant from a ’70 Chevelle SS mated to a 400 turbo trans, now if this is a true CCR coded limited produced engine then that probably explains the high price tag, but as always it’s only worth what the buyer is will to pay, looks like a fun car to drive I bet.

Did that when we bought the house and said I’d never do it again. Way too much work.

If I wanted a Chevy sleeper I would pick up that ’62 Impala 4dr w/’64 409/425hp motor advertised here a month ago, 16k$! Put to good use the 44k$ saved

Keep dropping,,,you know mom told me never to gloat, but moms not here, and you can’t blame them for wanting their investment back. In an about face, this car has an automatic. While I tout the advantages of an automatic today, anyone that wants this monstrosity will want to bang gears and might get that $50grand, but this is 2025, and nobody I know does that anymore. These people miss the target audience everytime, it seems.

Being a $5 dollar Craigslist add my guess is they are probably trying to get out of it what they spent to get it to this point. I’m willing to bet they would take less money for cash on the spot especially if you showed up with $25-$30k banded in $5-$10 and $20s in a small suit case so it appears to be more money than it actually is before you offer anything you pop open the case and show the money as you make your offer and try to make sure the wife or girlfriend is present at the time.

I’m corn foozed. When I bought my 1968 Nova, 396/375 TH 400CX, the SS option was NOT an option. It was mandatory to get the engine. The SS included the front disc brakes, 12 bolt, badging, suspension upgrades, hood thingies. The window sticker didn’t mention an engine option, or did I miss that? None the less, this is a nice car but, in my opinion, ‘way pricey. My 2¢

My car in high school was a 1972 Nova SS with the same console and gauge package. I can’t imagine that there are a lot of non SS cars out there that were ordered with this option.
