The MGA was the link in the MG timeline between the post-war look of the MG TF and the modern look of the MGB. The Morgan 4/4 has been a special car since its introduction in 1936. You can still buy a brand new one today and it will be hand-built much like its ancestors were in decades past. With all the new high-tech construction methods and little regard for craftsmanship today, it really makes the Morgan standout. Facel Vegas were elegant French cars with large American V8 engines up front. They were typically purchased by well-to-do famous people. Pablo Picasso even had one. When the firm decided to compete in the budding sports car market they had a four cylinder engine designed, and fitted into a smaller body with styling cues from big brother. The interest in original unmolested vintage cars remains high, as shown by the offering of this 1959 Austin Mini Se7en at the Bonhams auction to be held on April 30th in London. This Mini is in poor condition and is undistinguished but for one fact: It is believed to be the oldest unrestored Mini in existence. It is the 8th Mini to come off the production line at Longbridge in May, 1959, which was three months before the Mini’s official launch. (more…)

The Comet line’s start in life was difficult, and it didn’t last past 1977, but the Comet allowed Ford to offer an upscale compact car to compete with other domestic and foreign small cars that were coming to market during the early 1960s. This is not your common run-of-the-mill MGB GT. The MGC appeared in the BMC lineup during late 1967 as the replacement for the much-loved but out-of-production Austin Healey 3000. Unfortunately it lasted only until 1969 before production halted. BMC may have claimed that it was a substitute for the big Healey, but we think it has more in common with an Aston Martin.
