Here we have a MGB project pair that the seller needs someone else to take over. They are listed here on ebay as a package for $2,500 or best offer and are stored in Morris, Illinois.
The ’74 is sitting outside and as per the seller has been completely taken apart.
The seller says that there is a “good” engine, transmission, and a few new parts included for the ’73.
There are more images in the ebay ad of the windscreen and bonnets (hoods).
The ’74 has had some body work done by the previous owner.
The ’74 is said to be complete. The seller no longer has the time to finish these projects or the room to store them. If you “need” or want one the seller asks you to make an offer. This is a package deal but if you contact the seller with an offer you maybe able to pickup the one you want if you aren’t looking for two. The owner needs these gone. Do you need one or both to winter over with you?
Motor-on,
Robert
i think an offer should be made based on parting them out. interesting find.
With the seemingly endless supply of affordable MGBs for sale (they are all over craigslist, in both chrome and rubber-bumpered versions), I can’t imagine wanting to own these two cars.
As projects, they’re just too far gone to be worth messing with, even at $1250 apiece. And with the availability of new/repro parts from VB or Moss, how could you make any money parting these out?
Not worth it. You can buy a nice running and driving one for 2K all day.
Agreed. They look like $200.00 cars to me, $300.00 for both. Maybe a couple of more bucks if they have overdrive.
I was lucky to find and purchase a ’65 B earlier this year in similar shape. Price was $150 including some extra parts. These cars are even less desirable/collectible.
I see buyer’s remorse ahead.
How about an MGB portable Club Barbecue?
