We wish we could have been the ones to have pulled back this tarp and find that Boss 302 logo underneath. This 1970 Boss 302 has been under wraps for many years and is finally being given a chance at life again. Find it on eBay with a current bid of $8,300 with no reserve.
Being stored outside for all those years has gotten to this car’s body pretty bad. It’s really rough in a few spots, but for the most part this car looks to be fairly solid. And remember this is a ’70 Mustang and parts are widely available.
It looks like this car is original and complete. It doesn’t look like the car was ever in any accidents, so the body work that will need to be done will be to replace the rusty bits. We would contact reader David G, who’s rebuilding his ’65 Mustang we featured a while ago, and see if he needs another project for school.
Our biggest concern with this car is the engine. The previous owner took the engine out of the car to rebuild it and never finished. The engine and all the parts are with the car and the seller thinks this is the matching numbers block, but we would get the block number and check to make sure it is.
The interior actually looks really good. We would replace the carpets and just clean everything else up. We are glad it still has the original Ford RUG 4-speed Transmission and Hurst shifter. This car came with about all the available options and it looks like everything is still here.
The Boss 302 is becoming one of the more popular models of Mustang and is only going to go up in value. We hope whoever gets this car restores it properly and enjoys the heck out of it, we know we would.

Neighbor had same 1 but with the Shaker,I loved that Car,but he got it repoed. D.A. Who knows where it went.
In 1976 my brother’s brother in law bought a Boss 302 w/ the shaker hood and 4 speed from some kid who had bought it for his first car but ruined the clutch. Brother in law paid $800 for the car, fixed the clutch, drove it for a year, then sold it for enough money to put a down payment on a house.
The car was btw very clean, straight, unrusted, it was only 6 years old at the time. It was a sort of butterscotch orange color.
back in the 80s the girlfriends neighbor had a boss 302 in the garage. It was that orange color with houndtooth int that matched the outside . Loved the car,but the int. was odd. only had 19k .like new

I bought a 1 owner 70 boss 302,was orange in late 70,s for 1800.00 painted it yellow ,rebuilt engine woud do great burnouts,much fun to drive ,sold to buy land.
