It is not every day you come across a true classic like this. A rare, running, garage kept 1928 Nash Ambassador that is almost like a rolling time machine. With 41,000 miles, it has been parked since 1983. The listing states that an oil change indication was found from 1931 and the car had 20,400 miles on it then. The auction is a bid only, with a current price at writing of $6,100. It is located in Round Lake, Illinois. You can view more here on eBay.
In the engine compartment sits an inline 6 cylinder connected to a 3-speed manual. According to the listing, it does start, and it does drive. They even claim the lights work. It was given a tune to make all of that happen, but nothing aesthetically has been done since finding. There are no pictures provided of the engine. I am sure they can provide some if you are interested in communicating with them.
Where this car uniquely shines is on the inside. Beautiful wood embellishes the interior and it is accented by finely crafted hardware. It has an original women’s vanity. There is a fitted pocket make-up case and mirror that has its own holder in the car. There is also a picture wallet made of leather. For back seat passengers, there are pull-down shades, a footrest, and a retractable cigarette lighter.
For its age, the wood is solid, everything opens and closes well, the body is in good condition, and the vinyl top is not cracked or torn. The front interior has a stunning wood steering wheel surrounded by incredibly ornate gauges. The car rides on wire wheels and does have the fifth, spare wheel. Having been bought and owned by only two people, you can be the next owner and add to this long story.
This is one awesome vintage vehicle. I sincerely hope it is purchased by responsible collector.

in a battery and turned the key. Seems like our young friend Brenton
here hit the jackpot when he found this car. The only thing I see missing
here is a Tommy gun!

But, back to the car… I see one of two things here. Either a serious restoration, as much period perfect as possible, or, a resto mod. Upgrade suspension, wheels, brakes, etc. Rebuild the engine, if possible. For goodness sake, keep the mohair interior, if at all possible. Of course, all the needed safety items and a nice sound system. Clean her up, for sure. New pinned striped suit, spit shined oxfords, spats and a brand new skimmer. Now, I ‘m ready to go pick up Molly. We’re out for a night on the town, fellas!

I sure hope it finds the right new owner who appreciates its originality and enjoys it just as it is. to “restore” a car like that would be to destroy something wonderful and unique.

Somebody got a fair bit of use out of her in the beginning. Almost 7k miles per year would have been significant in the pre-interstate days. Nice……
Scope out the cut away 331 Hemi this seller has in his store! I want it! It even goes round and round and up and down! I want it! Put it in the living room, toss out the TV and all the trash on it, just sit and watch it run for hours on end. I want it but I like having the bride around too. Oh Well
