Reader Brent K. sent in this $500 find that even runs! It’s a 1964 Ford Thunderbird. It’s located in Richmond, Texas and you can contact the seller through the ad here on craigslist if you have a hankering for some thunderchicken this Thanksgiving season.
We don’t have a lot to go on here, as a matter of fact other than the seller telling us it cranks, they “need it gone ASAP” and that the trunk is rusted though, these poor pictures are the only thing we have. Looking at this picture, I’m wondering if this is a flood car, and the heavy duty tie wrap around the steering column makes it look like it’s a Copart car or some similar wholesaler.
That’s an air conditioning compressor you see, although truthfully the best us of that system may be to use it on another car. What do you think — is this worth investigating? Could it be brought back? Anyone near Richmond to let us know?
Ha! Under “condition”, seller says “good”!
Jammed Brakes and Cranks was the name of my Band in Highschool. Ah. The memories.
Did something die in the passenger seat. The title is the only thing “clean”.
Not right away, only after extended and bloody torture.
parts car if any parts are good what happened to texas rust free
That car makes me feel old, we are both the same age.
The Richmond/Rosenberg area was flooded pretty badly during May of this year. Don’t know if this car was effected – but if it’s located in the old city of Richmond, there’s a could chance it could be.
