Jaguar sedans of the 1960s offered a rare blend of elegance, performance, and old-world craftsmanship, and this two-car package could provide the foundation for an ambitious British car project. The package includes a 1960 Jaguar Mk 2 and a 1967 Jaguar S-Type, both located in Ottumwa, Iowa. The cars are being offered as projects or parts cars, with the seller noting that the Mk 2 appears to be the stronger restoration candidate while the S-Type may serve as a valuable donor. The seller lists clean title status and provides VINs for both vehicles. Mileage is noted as 18,132 for the Mk 2 and 7,983 for the S-Type.

The white 1960 Jaguar Mk 2 has reportedly been off the road since 1971 after sustaining damage to the right rear door. According to the seller, the repair appears to have been completed, but the car was never fully reassembled. The photos show the Mk 2’s body is largely intact, although it is missing some of its trim. The seller notes that there is rust, though not as extensive as on the S-Type.

The Mk 2 is currently without an engine or transmission, which is where the second car becomes important. The S-Type is described as too rusty to justify restoration, but it reportedly has a 3.8-liter Jaguar engine and a 4-speed manual transmission with electric overdrive that were removed from it but could be available at an additional cost. The seller’s original plan was to use this drivetrain in the Mk 2 since it isn’t as rusty. The S-Type also offers another desirable component: Jaguar’s independent rear suspension with inboard disc brakes. These IRS assemblies were sought after by custom builders and hot rodders for decades, and they remain valuable today, whether used in a Jaguar restoration or a custom build.

As you can see in the photo gallery, the Mk 2’s headlights and grille have been removed, though it appears that at least the grille is inside the car. The S-Type, however, appears to have most of those parts, and given how rusty its body is, they might be best served by being moved to the Mk 2. Prospective bidders will want to study the photos closely to determine what is present and the extent of the rust on both cars.

This package probably won’t appeal to someone looking for a simple weekend project, but it could be a worthwhile opportunity for the right Jaguar enthusiast. With two rolling cars, an available 3.8-liter drivetrain with an overdrive gearbox, and S-Type IRS components, there is enough here to make the package interesting as either a restoration foundation or as parts donors for another project. For someone who has always wanted a classic Jaguar sedan and doesn’t mind starting with a puzzle, this two-car package may be worth a closer look!

Do these cars have engines ????????
The engine is “for an additional cost”. Sorry, thanks but no thanks. Strip the interior, trim, headlamps, suspension, and send the rest to the crusher.
Also, I don’t understand why a damaged rear door required a complete dismantling. Does not compute.
The cars are not stripped, the parts are there along with the bumpers,
They are inside the car. All the gauges are there and there is an Engine and transmission.
I believe the previous owner of the Mk 2 had issues with the engine and needed major repairs so it was removed and either sold or abandoned not to be repaired.
I do not know that history?
I hope whatever it is that you need or want is given to you.
Love the Can Do attitude that exists
in this hobby
To potential buyers: If you buy em both you’ll become an instant Jag collector.
Nice Handle?
That might be a true statement? There are fewer and fewer Jags out there, these are far from perfect and need a lot of work, I guess if you want someone else to do it for you then you should probably not be looking in barns.
I guess I would rather be a Jag collector as opposed to broken hearts 💔?
