BF EXCLUSIVE: 1964 Chevrolet Impala

It might be a four door, it might be covered in a thick layer of dust and the chrome might have a little pitting, but Brian R’s ’64 Impala is one clean survivor! The odometer is showing 16,350 miles, but there’s no documentation to confirm that that’s accurate. Looking it over though, it looks like it could just be the correct mileage though! If you’ve been on the hunt for an Impala that just needs a good cleaning and a tune up to be a nice driver, you might want to contact Brian about buying this one via the form below. He’s asking $9,900 and the car is currently located in Cambridge, Maryland.

From Brian – This 4 door Sedan is a two owner vehicle. Second owner ran service station in town for 50 years! He serviced this car then bought it from the original owner. Never rained on, always garage kept.

Sitting for several years but was started and moved every several months. Turns over, runs with rough idle. Well optioned with 283 V8, cloth interior, full wheel covers, two tone (Desert Beige/White). Nice clean car that just needs to be wakened! I have lots more pictures.

This really does look like the kind of find you could just tune up and polish to have a great looking and driving car. Heck, just cleaning the dust off would make it look almost like new. Some elbow grease and chrome polish should have the bumpers and trim looking like new. Install some a new set of tires and you’d have a brand new ’64 Impala!

If this sounds like your kind of project, you can contact Brian using the form below to request more information or photos. Our thanks to him for deciding to list his Impala with us and we wish him luck finding a good home for it! If you have a low mileage survivor that needs a new home, please consider listing it right here on Barn Finds.

Doesn’t Brian make it a 3 owner car?, or did I read this wrong?

Looking at the photos I would guess the odometer is correct. Being a 4 door hurts the value but there are few with such few miles. Price is very fair and would make a ideal Sunday afternoon driver.

…Tort..the day is coming soon where 4 doors will get their respect..anyone can buy a 2 door model…but the 4 doors look nicer AND they are more scarce..I seek out origional 4 door survivors…there aren;t many left…but from the car shows I’ve attended, people really appreciate the 4 doors..they don’t get to see many anymore!!! And for the young people to enter the collecter car market, a good, clean 4 door is the way to go…for now the cost is reasonable…but not for long..

I agree with you Alan as well as many “older” folks I know in the car community around me! I bought my ’65 Buick Wildcat when I was 23 years old for $4500 CAD. About 57,000 miles on it. It runs great with a little bit of surface rust, but it still turns heads wherever I go!

This was my first car but with a 327. Sure it was a four door, but it was still a nice ride. I wish I had room for this.

Cut the top off and put a fake boot and drill holes in floor boards to drain rain!

    Get fancy and put two
door rear quarter panels if one feels energetic too!

Could be Brian is selling it for the second owner, or Brian is the service station owner writing in third person.

Then again, if he’s the third owner/flipper, I wonder how much he paid for it.

Fix the rotted rubber pieces and you would have a car that would run forever, plus you can keep it running with just your ear.
    Scanner? Bah.

No collector worth his salt, trusts a mechanical 5 digit odometer to determine any mileage claim….There are many other ways to give credence to a low miles car… in this case, a 16K mile car should have its original tires … an easy clue since they are date coded. In addition, the water pump, alternator, starter and most ancillary accessories should be original. This car appears to meet those criteria and the miles may very well be correct… if it were a convertible, I’d be all over it !!!

FYI. I am helping the family of the second owner sell it. I do buy/sell assistance as a weekend job. Thanks for looking!

If it were a convertible at this price it would be a bucket of rust without the bucket. This car looks stupendous, replace what’s needed, add vintage air conditioning and cruise!

Four Doors? At least it’s an Impala!

I’m one of those who values originality more than just about anything else. While I have violated that standard numerous times in 75 or so cars, there’s nothing like getting behind the wheel of a car that is just as it was built, not restored, and turning back the clock in your head. We had a ’61 Chevy stripper in black when I was a kid, so this would be a step up.” Hey Dad…I made it!”

That being said I am glad this is not on the West Coast because I’d have to go look at it.

    I don’t see the “well optioned” part. 283, no a/c, no p/s, no p/b, no p/w?

My friend attempted to contact the seller with no response, I tried and no response, is this for real or just another way to sell advertising?

I have followed Barn Finds for over three years now but the time has come to say goodbye. Like many other cars that were posted here I don’t believe this Impala is a legitimate sale.

I posted a reply to your last comment and asked that you point out your email and your friends e-mails that you claim I missed.
To date, I have responded to every e-mail I have received. The car is for sale.
