1959 was the peak for Cadillac tail fins and they routinely sell for six-figures. If you’ve ever wanted an instant collection of classic cars, or you want some projects to clean up and re-sell, check out this amazing group of cars! They can be found here on Craigslist with an asking price of $180,000 for the entire collection. Located in Glendale, California, the group includes the following: 1959 Convertible, 1960 Convertible, 1959 Six Window Sedan, 1954 Series 62 Sedan, and a 1976 Eldorado Convertible. Thanks to Taylor W. for the tip on this heavy-duty collection. Let’s take a closer look at some of these great cars!
This car is probably the highlight of the group. It is a 1959 convertible and features white paint with matching interior and black top. It also features factory air conditioning and based on the photos, looks like a great car. The seller notes it needs a fuel pump and some work on the top. Other than that, it is said to “run no problem” and looks like a real winner. As stated before, these cars routinely sell for big dollars, even in rough shape. A fully restored model can easily sell for six figures.
Starting in 1960 the tail fins started to shrink slowly. Although 1959 is probably the pinnacle for this era of Caddys, this 1960 is no slouch. It features a convertible top and is black on black on black. Said to only have 45,591 miles, this car may be just as good (or better) than it’s ’59 cousin above.
The other cars in the collection are a little less undesirable than the ’59 and ’60 but are all great cars in their own right. The car pictured above is the 1976 Eldorado. It has a “maroon metallic” exterior with white leather inside. It shows 76,673 miles on the odometer and would certainly be desirable to some collectors. The other cars include a 1954 Series 62 Sedan and a 1959 Six Window Sedan. Overall this is a great collection of vintage Caddies. What do you think of this group? Which is your favorite and what would you do with them?
For some reason, I always think of Elvis when seeing these cars,,,”Uh, huh huh”,,
What would I do with them…hmmm…..I’d wash them…yeah….that’s the ticket!
Some serious Detroit steel here!!! These cars have enough metal to supply Toyota for a year or so of production!!! Hope they find a good home!!!
The trip black 60 convertible is the star here if the 45K miles are correct, the white 59 is nice too, but that 60 is sharp.
Yup… that black ’60 convert’s got me droolin’!
If I only had an extra $180K laying around. I would fly out and ship them home. What a fantastic Cadillac collection.
Wonder how big a loan I could get for my sons. Nah they are worth more.
What are the vertical rods attached to the front grille of the 60 Convertible? Some sort of period accessory? My model of the Ghostbusters Ecto 1A has these.
They let the driver know where the front of the car is. You could not see exactly where you were as the front of the car was usually in a different zip code from the rest of the car.
Probably for a bug deflected shield…..
Recently I was at the Woodward Cruise and another local (Gratiot) Cruise with my son.
There were thousands of immaculate examples of Detroit Iron cruising and on display.
I never cease to be amazed at what’s tucked away around this great country of ours.
If they had a ‘63 Coupe deVille, I’d be there.
Seems underpriced……..
Sometimes I wonder about the platform sellers choose to use:
Here we have a small, but desirable, collection of Cadillacs. The seller hopes that Craigslist works. What about Ebay, or a local or national consignment shop? Maybe even Mecum, or a lower-key operation like VanDerBrink? I realize there are trade-offs between low-cost, lower-visibility vs. higher-cost, higher-visibility mediums. And it costs money to get the cars looking good for sale (please at least wash them!!) and transporting them to the sales location. But given the dollars this group of cars has the potential to fetch, wouldn’t you go for something higher profile? Just my thoughts.
Back to the cars…. I’m not into Cadillacs but these are interesting cars.
