In the late 1960s, some of the most popular cars on the market were the redone B-bodied Chryslers circa 1968-70. The hottest was the Dodge Charger, followed closely by the Plymouth Road Runner, and the rest of the B-body pack (Plymouth GTX, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Coronet). The seller has what’s left of a 1970 N-code Charger that has been stripped of a lot of stuff, leaving behind a rusty carcas and the like. Located in Rougemont, North Carolina, this parts car/project is available here on Facebook for $4,500 OBO. Thanks for the heads-up, Mitchell G.!

The second-generation Dodge Charger would become a hot commodity more than a decade after it was built. That’s because it was one of the stars of TV’s The Dukes of Hazzard, where perhaps 300 of them were wrecked in many a kamikaze jump while outrunning the law. Also, the 1968 Charger R/T made quite an impression when new in the famous car scene chase in the Steve McQueen movie, Bullitt. After selling 80-90,000 Chargers each year in 1968-69, the largely unchanged car still found 45,000 buyers in 1970 before another redesign would follow.

Per the cowl tag, this forlorn Charger began life with a 383 cubic inch “Magnum” V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. It’s one of 758 copies so equipped that year. That engine is long gone, having been replaced by a “regular” 383 with a 2-barrel, which has since been liberated from many of its parts. The seller has some of the bits and pieces that you don’t necessarily see in the photos.

A prior owner cut off the rear part of the car to use as “wall art.” The cowl tag also reveals that the paint was originally EF8 green with a black vinyl top and green interior. Not much of that is left to eyeball, and the floors are completely rusted through. Except for the windshield, much of the glass has been kept, along with not one but two trunk lids. There is no title, but if you’re considering this purchase, it’s probably the VIN and cowl tags you want. And bring lots of ratchet strips because keeping this thing from falling off a flatbed won’t be easy.

I’m waiting for Stan to come on here say say…..
Time to call 1-800-The Hook!!!
I reckon that Bo and Luke didn’t walk away from this one…
Repurpose, and sell it to Bo Tanker.
And here’s the 1st 2026 contestant for the BF “You’re gotta be kidding me, right???” Award!
Save yourself the trouble and effort. Just go find a rusty nail, give yourself a good scrape, and get your fill of tetanus that way. You’d be up $4,500.

If I was in the area I’d be happy to haul it away for scrap if this “seller” would pay me about $100.
Hey there AMC guy, have you ever heard of the Bill Kraft rambler? I was trying to find out what happened to it, have you heard anything about it?
Clearcoat it, and call it patina.
WOW another mopar gone to the scrap pile.Basicly you are getting two rear windows for that price.
Mopar gold for a mopar guy!!
If there is a set of 4 of those wheels, they’d be the most valuable thing on this Charger, which looks to have already served as a parts car.
